Proof that Russia hacked into MLB by mistake:

- The Giants lost an elimination playoff game
- The Cubs were the beneficiaries of a devastating late inning rally
- The Cubs did not lose three games in a row after only needing to win one more to advance

I'm requesting a commemorative boxed DVD set of Games 3 and 4 as a 2016 stocking stuffer.

Also requesting a video compilation of pitchers' at bats to send to the AL.

(I kind of wish the Cubs had tied the game in the ninth and gone on to lose in extra innings so there could be a Game 5 at Wrigley - just to see what the hell could possibly happen).

I love this feeling: Opening day of a sporting season and my team is still technically in the hunt for the championship trophy.

Not a Leafs fan, eh?

*sob*

To be fair, I'm pretty much a fair weather fan at this point. The Blue Jays have a death grip on my sporting attention (pre-, middle-, and post-season), and I barely followed the Leafs last year. I even had AMAZING tickets to two Leafs home games last season (one in a luxury box, one 4 rows behind the Leafs net), saw them win (rare!), and I still couldn't get into following them closely. Seeing Marner and Matthews play might rekindle my love this year.

That said, I would have LOVED to have gotten the Maple Leafs Seasons Ticket package they sent out this year.

I think Matthews may turn out to be a rekindler.

Forward Auston Matthews became the first player to score four goals in his first NHL game in the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 loss in overtime against the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday.

This might be the most Maple Leafs result you could expect.

Leafs are finally doing it right. Shed a bunch of overpaid floaters last year and opened the door for developing young talent. They will have some growing pains but at least it will be young players making mistakes they will learn from rather than guys making 5 million a year plus showing up only on paydays. Only bad move was losing James Reimer as he's an ideal guy to have around to bail out a team on nights (seasons) when the defense has trouble.

Ticket package brings back memories ... watched a lot of Leafs way back when on the old 20" black and white TV. Remember a lot of the roster from back then including Keon, Ellis, and Henderson.

Check out the Keon photo - was one of the few players who stuck with a straight stick after curves came out.

That ticket package is amazing, grum.

Good news for owlie!

I, for one, am looking forward to the Second Coming.

Or third, if you count the time he was a coach before being recruited by Man Utd.

At least we might start playing football.
