Andrew Shaw On Apparent Video of Him Shouting Gay Slur At Official: "I Don't Know What I Said"

And this comes less than three weeks after the Blackhawks announced a partnership with the You Can Play Project (who the NHL also have a partnership with).

I know it's almost certainly not going to happen, but he needs to be suspended now, not at the beginning of next season. And it should come down from the team, not the League.

Even without the yelling of the slur from the penalty box, he was being outrageously disrespectful of the on-ice officials by yelling at them and giving them a double-barrelled bird while still on the ice. I know it's bad form to eject someone from a playoff game, but come on man, how can let this player show you up like this on the friggin' ice? Then you throw in the homophobic slur? Yeah, I'm with Ufez on this; the dude should be gone.

It's official. One game suspension for the slur. $5000 fine for the birds.

Dude is gone, for one game, which hopefully is the rest of the Blackhawks season.

And, $5,000 for the double-barreled bird.

As MrFrisby just noted a moment before my post...

Cleveland Browns have traded their #2 pick to the Eagles for what seems at first glance like another tidy haul. Have to go see how it stacks up against what the Titans got for the top pick.

Does anyone have a cumulative tally of the trading cost/value embedded in this year's top 2 picks?

Coverage of the NFL Draft now encompasses so many weeks of the annual calendar that it has become a season unto itself. Teams could embark on a "tank and trade" strategy, whereby they suck in the fall but are the talk of the town and lords of all they survey in the spring.
