Why don't the Cubs just do this?

Grum doesn't need an equal opportunity. Or an applicant's complementary kielbasa. He just needs about 10-15 minutes of their time. That should do it.

To be fair, they couldn't afford me. :)

(It's well known in the business of baseball that they WAY underpay positions that are comparable to others in the non-baseball world. Data analysts, techies, etc. The reason is that everyone wants to be part of a sports team, and will take a pay cut to get the job.)

I'd need to play with the PitchFx data for a month or two before I could even think of a job like that.

Also, my programming skills in C have atrophied since I started using a proprietary language in the insurance industry.

Side note: How long has that image been around? I swear I remember it from almost 10 years ago.

Just a few years.

It's good to be the MVP.

Looking at those badass shoes on a Saturday morning is reminding me that I need to get out there and aerate my lawn.

(Let's call it a yard. It is not emerald perfection. But it still needs air just as much as a regulation professional football does.)
