Eli Manning Told Running Back Not to Score: When the New York Giants had a first-and-4 with under two minutes remaining and a three-point lead over Dallas, Eli Manning told running back Rashad Jennings on consecutive plays not to score. "I thought that they may let us score to get the ball back, so that’s why I informed Rashad if they let you score, just go down at the 1-inch line. Don’t score," Manning said. "I was wrong on that." New York kicked a field goal but lost 27-26 on a Dallas touchdown in the final seconds.

Because who wants a two possession lead with a minute left? The math is not that hard. Refreshing to see him admit it frankly, though.

65 million of Eli's new contract is guaranteed.

Manning also miscounted the Cowboys' timeouts, due to them calling one right before/during a penalty that got given back to them.

I don't see Eli he missed that, since the ref explained it to the entire stadium.

I'm assuming that means Eli was going for the run-it-down-to-zero strategy, where you might not even kick the field goal on fourth down if you've eaten the entire clock?

If Extremely High Voice (and Worryingly Homophobic) cable Peyton Manning was watching Eli's clock management, I bet he shrieked.

That game seemed like the QBs had reversed roles.

Eli has had a penchant for coming thru in the clutch, at least in big games, and Romo has had the unfortunate tag of making the one bad play that costs the game, even though he likely is the most valuable QB for his team aside from Aaron Rodgers.

I see this game as a good omen for rcade, who has arranged a dozen Texas Rangers playoff candles in a votive circle on the floor of his man cave.

The candles are working.
