In a complete comedy of errors, David de Gea's transfer to Real Madrid misses the deadline by just. this. much. Madrid blame United for sending them computer files they couldn't open, while others speculate this was Ed Woodward's revenge for stringing them along on Sergio Ramos.

Victor Valdes' move to Turkey also fell through, though at least the last of last season's keepers, Anders Lindgaard, did get his transfer done. As it was to West Brom, one does wonder though.

Meanwhile van Gaal will have to manage two unhappy keepers for at least 3-4 months and wind up with nothing to show for one of the world's best keepers, who can sign a pre-contract in January to move next summer for zero dollars down and zero in add-ons.

The Dodgers think they got one hit off Jake Arrieta.

Looking at this replay, it looks like a hit to me.

If the opposing team's scorer calls it an error, then I'll tend to lean in that direction as well.
