Just finding out something grum already knew:

Trout has now hit for the cycle in sequential order in his first at bats in the last 4 All Star games.

As one article pointed out, it won't be long before they do a "Greatest Living Players" thing again and he'll be one of the four and the only one still active.

Saw earlier this week on the ESPN crawl that this was Trout's 4th All-Star Game in his 5 seasons and jumped to baseball-reference to find out how such an omission could happen. MLB needs to get rid of that rule granting teams an extra year of service time if they hold a player in the minors for a few weeks. He should have been starting in the ASG that year too.

Similarly, I've barely been following baseball this year due to the Terrible Twos arriving early and the Red Sox soiling themselves, so Bryce Harper's slash line stunned me. I knew he was doing well this year in the numbers old guys care about, but wow.

He was overmatched at 19, as the OPS shows (.672). This is one of those times where staying in the minors for the season wouldn't have been a bad idea (in retrospect). Then again, maybe that taste of the majors made him work even harder in the off-season.

Wow indeed.

Mark Cuban is devoted to ruining our fan rage. Asked what he said to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer: "I told him exactly what I told other owners, I didn't have a problem with his Hail Mary approach to keeping a player. I understood why they did it. And even how they did it. They got their player back. End of story."

Ah, I looked at the second line, not the first and misunderstood.

Would have been interesting to see how Jordan could compliment an aging Dirk. Now he's back to the Clippers who have a few very good players but not enough to challenge the top 3 in the West next year (SA, OKC, GS).

Jordan is a nice complimentary player but not a 1 or 2 type option. Clippers are in dire need of a 1 or 2 option whereas Dallas needs complimentary players.
