Kudos to ND women's team for a valiant effort in defeat in last night's title game. Women's game needs more teams at the top though.

Once again, I'm the only guy in my yoga class. But I think I've already lost my audience. I mentioned that, while it's nice to be able to greet the sunrise properly, what I'm really interested in is being limber and energized enough to do a couple of Duke floor slaps whenever I'm in the mood.

Blank stares and "Okayyy..." looks on faces all around.

Duke, for once, it's not you. It's me. You're good.

Post tournament season note: I hate raised basketball courts with an ever growing passion.

Duke floor slaps whenever I'm in the mood.

One of my favorite memories of the crappy Celtics of the Aughts was Jay Williams doing that and Marcus Banks ripping right around him for a dunk. I wish I could start each day with that on a video loop.

Liked this tweet about a pitcher I'd never heard of, John Hiller "one of two pitchers with an 8 WAR year without starting a game". That's is quite a 1973 season and a pretty nifty career.

One of the new rules in MLB this year is that a batter must keep one foot in the batter's box between pitches (if no contact is made on the previous pitch).

Veteran Texas Ranger Adrian Beltre forgot about that rule...and then remembered it.

I couldn't guess the other guy, so I looked it up.

Ha, I was wondering too. Would be interesting to see that at 6 and 7 WAR (though the Play Index is free right now this tool apparently is not). I like that Goose had an ERA+ of 465 in '81. I'm assuming that was because of a hot streak before the strike.

I remember John Hiller! And today I learned: John Hiller is Canadian. He also has a pretty entertaining Wikepedia page. Definitely worth your time to read it.
