It takes a strong man to do this. Jim Rice of the Boston Red Sox once did this, and I have heard that Willie Horton of Detroit also did the same.

Craig Counsell broke a bat once. It fell out of the cargo hold of the team charter over South Dakota.

Anyone remember a cement head named Glenn Braggs? He did it in the World Series.

Richard Schaefer resigns from Golden Boy Promotions.

This will probably lead to a major shake-up of the boxing landscape.

Wow, yes. And I miss Jack Buck (assuming that's who the voice is-- well, I miss him either way). Don't miss McCarver very much (PS Tim, it's Fort Bragg, no S).

Braggs had a knack for making the everyday look extraordinary out in left. Any ball that wasn't hit directly at him was an adventure; Manny Ramirez looked like a gold glove fielder in comparison. But his terrible judgment paired with extraordinary athletic ability led to some highlight-reel catches. If you didn't know that he had run three steps in before turning to sprint to the warning track to make a leaping catch (when a good fielder would have casually taken three steps backward) you might have thought him a spectacular left fielder.
