How the new CBA is causing players to declare early for the NFL. Everything in the article makes sense, but it seems incredibly one-sided. The new CBA means teams no longer risk being yoked to a bust of a top ten pick for years under an onerous contract. Having to trade that for more risk on prospecting for talent seems like a pretty good swap. It is strange that the intended effect from the NFLPA perspective, more money flowing to veterans, may not happen for anyone but the players who were veterans when the CBA came into effect.
