Florida State Wins BCS Championship: The Florida State Seminoles rallied from a 21-3 deficit with a last-second touchdown pass from Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston to defeat the Auburn Tigers 34-31 in the BCS National Championship. The Noles finish the season 14-0 and end a seven-year streak of SEC teams atop college football's highest division.

Coach Bowden was asked if he was going to watch the game. Not being a night owl, he said that if one team started to get away from the other, he'd go on and go to bed.

I hope somebody woke him up.

Message from Katherine Webb: "I tell ya' -- you Musburgers get all the good lookin' fourth quarters".

I always thought that Joe Gibbs winning three Super Bowl with three different QB's was a major accomplishment. Even though Malzahn had significant prior experience and some measure of continuity with Auburn, the Tigers darn near winning two national titles in four years with two different staffs and team rosters, and with the upheaval of a 3-9 year sandwiched in the middle of it - that is huge.

Now we need a champion from somewhere other than Fla-Bama. Coach Dantonio, I'm counting on you.

I would've thought that Jesus would wake up Mr. Bowden if Fla State was winning.

That was a great game, almost on par with Vince Young leading Texas over USC.

I didn't think Auburn had the defense to hang with Florida State, but the pass rush helped make their secondary look good.

I can't believe the refs missed the horse collar tackle on the FSU receiver during the final drive. Is there some kind of expectation that only the closest ref gets to call that? Surely some of the other officials did, given how flagrant it was.

I didn't see it at first, but the replay showed there was a mild facemask on that tackle as well.

It was indeed a very entertaining game. I actually was surprised with the defensive play of both teams--at least until the final few minutes of the game when they both forgot how to tackle at inopportune times.

The other streak this game ended was the one where no team had ever come back from being behind at halftime to win a BCS title game. The only second half that ever mattered was in 2009 when Florida and Oklahoma were tied at 7 going into the intermission.

The #1 vs. #2 BCS record was evened up to 8 wins apiece, as were both Florida State's and Auburn's title game records (2-2 and 1-1, respectively).

The BCS era ended with no SEC team having a losing record in the title game, and no non-SEC team having a winning record (though that would have been the same regardless of last night's game).
