Wayne Rooney saga makes you think, 'What might have been?' Comparison to Owen are sadly apt.

ESPN's reporting seems to assume approval of manager-initiated challenges in MLB will be a fait accompli, but that seems a little optimistic to me.

"Calling it a historic moment, Commissioner Bud Selig said Thursday . . . "

When a story starts like that, there's a 99% chance it means baseball's trying to clean up some screwup. Can't wait for an* historic moment in 2015 when they get rid of it.

I don't actually care, it's just early and I hate The Commish. Selig, I mean.

Raji Davis's play showed great hustle and the benefit of running hard. Robinson Cano would have probably still been thrown out at first; stayed at first; or been thrown out had he (doubtfully) attempted to go to second.
