Drugs in Sport: The Game and the Metagame.: How mathematical logic could address some of our concerns.

I'm particularly taken by extending the idea of the game we watch being only a representation of the "hidden" relationships between athletes, owners, sponsors, the media etc, which is the metagame.

Not just in relation to drugs, but as a perspective that a sceptical fan should probably assume to make sense of the sports world as a whole.

Interesting piece. But the frequency of testing has nothing to do with what's being tested to check, so the metagame could continue unabated with any substance not yet banned.

Correct, rcade. The chemist is always a bit ahead of the authorities.
