MY BRACKET IS TERRIFIC! (thanks, rcade)

posted by NoMich at 08:45 AM on March 21, 2013

My bracket is reasonable.

posted by rcade at 08:47 AM on March 21, 2013

None shall underperform my bracket!

I've entered UConn Huskies in the tournament.

My bracket is quite large.

Skipping the Bayless is prepared to show you all his complete ignorance.

I'm pretty sure picking on sentiment, not having watched a single college game this season, means the BST BBusters will win this trophy. And the first B in BBusters doesn't stand for bracket, m'kay?

posted by billsaysthis at 11:50 AM on March 21, 2013

The extra 'B' is for BYOBB.

I'm in, the bigger number is the better team, right?

My bracket is already busted. I don't care if I win, but I thought Valpo had a chance against MSU, lol.

My brackets are doing quite well holding the shelves they support. (in other words, what I know about college basketball can be contained in about 2 lines of text. Thus, I do not even try to do brackets.)

Davidson totally choked. They had that game.

I told you! NONE!

Bugger. Too late.

Damn you, time zones.

Yes, Harvard.

I happened to catch part of the Harvard - New Mexico tournament game last night in my car on Harvard's WHRB-FM.

The three students calling the game had courtside seats from the sound of it. Made for an interesting college radio listening experience.

The two lead announcers were excitable lads caught up in the moment as one might expect, but the third announcer was a poised, knowledgeable, and insightful young woman. What little she said was worth waiting for.

If she decides not to go into foreign policy or mergers and acquisitions, she's got a future in the profession. Following the footsteps of studio deskmeister James Brown.

Florida Gulf Coast??? Let's hear it for *COUGH* Georgetown and the "old" Big Least.

posted by jjzucal at 10:26 PM on March 22, 2013

I just got back from the GU - FGCU game here in Philadelphia. Fun game. Florida had a couple really talented athletes, and had enough amazing plays to fill a Sports Center top 10. GU came out sluggish and never found a groove. FGCU game out aggressive and disciplined, and maintained that energy throughout.

During the introductions there were very few cheers for Florida, and huge crowd support for Georgetown. By the half the GU fans were mostly quieted, and there was thunderous support for Florida, who received a standing ovation at the finish.

Damn. I just went from first to worst. Nice.

My South bracket has exploded. Actually had UCLA to the final 4, VCU to final 8 and G'town to final 16 ... OOPS!

HA! All y'all are coming down to the basement to hang out with me. Reminds me of that old country song, Pick Me Up On Your Way Down.

posted by NoMich at 07:57 PM on March 23, 2013

Uh oh. Country tune reference alert.

I'd Rather Be Picked Up Here Than Put Down At Home.

Never pick a school to win it all whose name sounds like a Klingon swear word.

posted by rcade at 09:15 AM on March 24, 2013

That's weird.
I made my picks in Yahoo (on Wednesday) before I went off to the tournament. Today, when I see that a group has been set up, I join it.

It has all my picks, it shows my score, but because I joined the group late I don't get ranked in it?

But I'm ahead!
(for now, as two of my elite eight have been eliminated)

I think I've got the basement all locked up, y'all.

posted by ursus_comiter at 02:12 PM on March 24, 2013

Not so fast, Ursus. My maximum score is only six higher than yours.

posted by rcade at 04:58 PM on March 24, 2013

Don't none of you go gettng excited about that Costanza just yet, atm I'm winning that easily.

posted by billsaysthis at 08:52 PM on March 24, 2013

Seems like there's a real battle for the Lanterne Rouge going on here.

posted by beaverboard at 10:37 PM on March 24, 2013

My maximum score is at 60 right now. Let's just see who can beat that.

posted by Hugh Janus at 11:00 PM on March 28, 2013

I'm still in it.

posted by ursus_comiter at 06:22 PM on March 30, 2013

My maximum is 52, which eliminates Ursus from the running. Sorry.

I think the coveted Costanza comes down to Duke-Louisville between Hugh Janus and I. I picked Duke, Hugh picked Louisville and neither of us has any other points possible.

C'mon, Louisville!

posted by rcade at 07:36 PM on March 30, 2013

And just like that, a player swoops in and steals the Costanza with Wichita State's upset of The Ohio State. All hail Insomnyuk.

posted by rcade at 07:56 AM on March 31, 2013

That race for the bottom was exciting. I can't believe how far up the chart I finished.

Congratulations to Holden for the win!
