I'm a big fan of the American flag on the left side of this web site for Canadians.

Is there an advertisement with one? I don't see anything but an image of a Canadian player on both sides.

No advert that I'm seeing. The flag is behind the glass almost adjacent to the hockey player on the left side of the screen. Do you see any flags in the audience there?

I see one on the right side above the glass, but you have to scroll down so the banner moves out of the way.

It must be based on screen resolution (1280x1024). My computer at work cuts off the image at the edge of her helmet grill. I don't see the Nike logo or the flag.

I contacted Hockey Canada and asked. Their response was that it's a photo from the most recent tournament Canada was involved in. The tourney was in Vermont, a reasonable place to find an American flag being held in the stands.

Grum: well, that explains that. I have gigantor monitors at work.

Tommy: well, that explains that. I guess that also explains why team Canada is wearing their whites.

The end of that Jets game was spectacular.

I was hoping the Jets would force a safety, get the ball back and miss a game-winning FG... but this was almost as good.

I'm waiting for a Bill Summons column, only this team describing anti-clutch QBs utilizing sports movie quotes with the most mistcast actors of all time.

I have no idea if Sanchez can produce given different circumstances (as Young was adamant about postgame). But his play clearly shows he can't perform in the current system.

I think we've seen and are seeing exactly what Sanchez can do. He's played 61 games with a mix of Holmes and Burress and Edwards and Keller, (and Cotchery!), and his best completion percentage is 56.7% and his YPA has been nailed around six and a half every year. He has 68 touchdowns and 68 interceptions.

I think once you see 50+ games and four seasons of essentially the exact same performance there aren't going to be grand surprises in the future.

He'll still be New York's Quarterback next year though, because he's prohibitively expensive to cut, so he's definitely getting one more chance.

My favorite Jets stat. "The Jets are 1-8 in games Sanchez throws 4 or more picks". How does he have 9 games already with 4 or more picks and still get a paycheck,

posted by Debo270 at 11:36 AM on December 18, 2012

Incluing last night, Sanchez has only thrown four or more picks three times.

Here's the leaderboard for Quarterbacks who have thrown four or more picks multiple times.

The leader among active players is... Tom Brady. Four or more picks in six different games.

posted by Mr Bismarck at 12:59 PM on December 18, 2012

Sorry, 3 or more picks. Not 4 or more.

An amazing fumble, perfectly timed. I watched it over and over on Tivo.

I like the Jets, but Rex Ryan displayed so much ego in the good times that it's kinda fun to see him humbled.

That is 77 pics in 66 games or roughly 1.17 a game. I know the team around him sucks too, but it may be time to find a new guy to run the show.

The biggest takeaway* for me is how much quarterback accuracy has improved. I know most of the guys at the top of Mr. B's list had long careers, but they also passed a lot less to generate so many interceptions. I don't understand how Brady is ahead of Favre though. I am going to call my congressman.

* Apologies

Danny White had six games with four interceptions or more and finished 4-2 in those games.

Clearly Dallas should have done that more often.

posted by Mr Bismarck at 02:46 PM on December 18, 2012

Romo needs to go 3-0 in his upcoming 4 interception games to match that record.

Pretty certain he'll attain at least a partial share ....

After last night, I sure hope the Golden Globes bump Matt LeBlanc & add Mark Sanchez for "Best Comedic Performance" this season.
