Carolina Panthers GM, Marty Hurney, fired. Something I didn't think would ever happen.

After a Giants win and some great comments about why, id like to continue a SpoFi fan vote on who our MLB fans would to see in the WS.

Giants or Cards

The comments as to why are just a sweet surprise I had not expected. Truly great insight into our fans.

So far LionIndex is the only one wishing the demise of both teams prior to finishing the series. Noted and a third category added.

Curent count:

Giants 10

Cards 2

Both eaten buy the planet first 1

and the fine print, only one vote per member, no prizes or awards will be offered, all you get is the is the satisfaction of knowing you voted.

My either. I never understood his strategy of stockpiling guys who can run the ball extremely well ($90M in contracts for Williams, Stewart and Tolbert) and then leaving undersized Steve Smith and a bunch of misfits to try and catch passes. Especially with Newton in town, it's too many playmakers who all operate out of the same backfield in a league that's been moving to explosive passing games the whole time.

The Panthers have been rebuilding for years and yet need a whole defensive overhaul and a receiver or two (because Smith won't last forever.) That's pretty awful.

They don't run the ball either. Williams had two carries on Sunday and Stewart only had ten. It's absurd.

So in the last 17 years, only 41% of Tour De Frances have actually had a winner. Thanks Lance(7), Landis(1), Contador(2), and Riis(1).... Thats almost as many years vacated as JoePa.

I know fantasy football is not usually discussed here, but Deangelo Williams is killing me.

Giants.

As both a Cubs and a Tigers fan, I've got no love for the Cards. Also, I mentally associate the Cards with being the MLB team of the south before the Braves and Senators moved south and the expansion teams popped up. Specifically, the '47 Cards did not exactly bathe the franchise in glory when facing the Brooklyn Dodgers and Jackie Robinson.

I'm also cheering for not-the-Cardinals. I'm steaming over that game 5 comeback in Washington. I will be cheering for Detroit regardless, although probably only in passing.

And a corollary on the Cardinals, I am not in favor of the 2nd wild card (although perhaps moreso the 1-game playoff), and if they win it would be seen as vindication for it.

Ugh, I made that mistake last year. This year I had Chris Johnson and Michael Turner. Until recently, I felt like next year, I will just pass on my running back picks.

Darren McFadden is killing me this year. The Raiders took a massive step backwards.

That's pretty effing cool that the Blue Jackets radio guys showed up at the bar and called the XBox simulation game.

How about the BOSTON Braves. They haven't been in it for 64 years. Oh, wait, that's right, they left town in 1952 when I was only 11. Snif, snif, I still miss them. In all seriousness, I'd rather see the Cardinals vs Detroit, only so that NL home night games won't start at 2200 here on the east coast. Also, St. Louis vs Detroit has sort of an "old time" connotation that San Francisco vs Detroit does not.
