I've found from my own personal experience playing youth sports that many of the adults involved in youth sports are just the worst kind of people.

Looked like maybe it was accidental, particularly the part where he ran over quickly to apologize and gave the universal "whoops, my bad" hands-up signal.

I've coached youth sports for many years and have come across some real interesting characters who really shouldn't be around kids. I'll add that the only sport where I've witnessed acts as serious as this is Hockey; coaches and parents yelling at opposing players and coaches, parents physically confronting opposing kids, parents fighting in the stands and parking lots. I don't get it - what is it about Hockey that seems to attract all of the whack jobs of society?

You know how Canadians are universally declared "nice" by everyone that meets them?

Two reasons:

1) We segregate the mean people in hockey.
2) We blow off steam with hockey.

In my experience so far, the shitbag adults in youth sports are rare. But you have to watch out for them, because things can get out of hand in a hurry.

It's weird that this coach is not identified after charges were filed against him. His name is Martin Tremblay and he coaches the UBC Hornets. The coach and the kid he tripped had been clashing during the game.

Longer video of the coach's trip incident just after the 1:00 mark

B.C. hockey coach faces charge after boy tripped

Whew! At first glimpse of the headline, I thought they were talking about Jerry York, coach of the Boston College (BC) hockey team. OK, now I know it was about a coach in British Columbia.

Two reasons:

1) We segregate the mean people in hockey. 2) We blow off steam with hockey.

And if those 2 things don't work, isolate them in Vancouver and make them Canucks fans.

Or send them to Atlanta and tell them they'll be playing for the Thrashers.

Oh, right. Canada doesn't have an Eighth Amendment.

Criminy, that's a whole lot of Tar Heels being drafted in the first round tonight.
Davis and Kidd-Gilschrist are the first-ever 1-2 college teammates in the draft.

Ron Jaworski stated that Matthew Stafford is the 14th best quarterback in the NFL going into this season.

He must be good friends with Cris Carter.
