The President congratulated the Miami Heats (sic).

He did? Doesn't sound like it to me.

Lukas Podolski is excited about making the semi-finals. In other news, I now wish Germany lost.

The ump is saying out, and Dewayne Wise doesn't have the ball!"

And Hannahan got thrown out of the game for...

It was too late, of course, to help the Indians or Hannahan, who argued the call after seeing a replay in the clubhouse and got ejected. "I can live with the fact that he didn't see him drop the ball or live with the fact that he didn't see the fan jumping up and down two feet away, excited he got a foul ball,'' Hannahan said. "But to not ask him to see the ball is absolutely inexcusable. And it's frustrating.''

Hannahan said the expressing of that opinion, without swearing, was what got him tossed, an account DiMuro pretty much confirmed. "He and I got into a discussion about the play,'' DiMuro said. "He told me to reference the tape replay, and that is why I ejected him.''

Here's the video that justgary is referring to.

That is nutty. Getting thrown out for pointing out how incompetent the ump was during that play.

It didn't even look like Wise was play-acting very much to me.

Spiderman's new secret hideout.

I'm trying to think of an appropriate "so that's where he hides his Vaseline for his spit balls" joke vis a vis the Spiderman gif, but I got nothing.

Maybe that's why C.C. Is going on the DL.

Fair enough, but now I'd like to see the Batcave, if you don't mind.

Guess there's no point calling for a hand check.

We can assume Joe Maddon will want the ump to visit the mound next time Tampa is in town. Is this why CC is on the disabled list?

posted by yerfatma at 10:36 AM on June 28, 2012

No, Joe Maddon thinks it's bush league. It's Davey Johnson you have to watch out for, but luckily for CC, the Yankees have already been to Washington this season.

Nah, Maddon thinks it's bush league to catch his guy doing it. He's made the ump come out to check a Red Sox pitcher more than once.

posted by yerfatma at 11:57 AM on June 28, 2012

Maddon thought it was bush league b/c the player was a former Nat under Davey Johnson not that generally checking a pitcher was the problem.
