Get ready for Minnesota High School Hockey (video): The 2011-12 MN H.S. season is set to begin later this week. It will culminate in March when class AA and class A Champions are crowned. The video does a great job of capturing what it is like to play in the state tourney at St. Paul's the Excel Energy Center in front of 18,000 people.

More than 3,000 boys will participate during the regualr season. 38 of them will come out the other end as Champions.

Hockey is to Minnesota what football is to Texas. Lots of good college hockey here, too, which is sadly going to be somewhat messed up by the upcoming realignment.

I agree. I am a big WCHA fan and although I may very well be wrong, I think I will rue the day Terry Pegula donated 88M to Penn State for a D1 hockey team. Big 10 hockey was probably inevitable, but the Pegula gift probably sped up it's arrival by a few years.

...On top of mssing the WCHA rivalries, just having to look at Ohio State's helmets twice a year will be pure torture! :)

I'll leave this one up, but posting links to your own site is against the rules here, NormsAndNedums.
