CFL Pick 'Em, Week 18: Two weeks left and it's down to the wire! Grab your, uh, wire cutters? and make your picks inside.

Edmonton holds off a late Argo comeback to seal the deal in Toronto. Calgary ensures Saskatchewan's tough streak continues. Winnipeg takes advantage of rare Montreal mistakes to complete the comeback, while Hamilton puts a definitive end to B.C.'s winning streak.

Two weeks left, and still no divisions clinched. We're not in garbage time quite yet.

WEEK 18

Toronto @ Winnipeg (Friday, October 28)
Winnipeg's sitting pretty in a tie for first, plus the season series win over Montreal. Do they begin to rest their starters? Does it even matter against the Argos?

Hamilton @ Saskatchewan (Friday, October 29)
Saskatchewan's mired in a funk, and Hamilton's trying to win out for a home playoff berth. Wait, they tied their season series with Montreal. So I guess it goes to point spread if they tie? I should really look this up.

Edmonton @ B.C. (Saturday, October 29)
B.C. lost some momentum last week, so if they still want that division crown, this is a must-win for them at home.

Calgary @ Montreal (Saturday, October 30)
Calgary seems to have been lost in the shuffle, but they're still in the running for a home playoff berth. Just their luck to get Montreal this week.

Good luck!

Dr J, would I not get 2 for Bombers?

posted by argoal at 12:06 PM on October 27, 2011

Nope, because with a 1-point spread, the margin shrinks to zero. So you can't get 2 points on a 1-point spread. You either nail it or you don't.

Crap! I got tangled up in the wire, and couldn't get loose in time to pick the Toronto vs Winnipeg game. It's not a big deal, since I would have picked Winnipeg and lost anyway. Here goes with the rest of the entanglement:

Hamilton at Saskatchewan is very meaningful to the TiCats, and is for pride only for the Riders. I look for the Cats to lay across the barbed wire and do their level best to knock off the Riders. Hamilton wins by 4.

Edmonton at BC could go down to the wire. Lions need this one for home field, but Eskimos are ahead in the standings. Lions slipped up a bit last week, but have played just as well as, if not better than, the Eskimos of late. BC is within their own wire for this one, and that gives them an edge. Lions win by 8.

Calgary at Montreal has the makings of a mismatch. I don't think the Stampeders will just send a wire instead of showing up, although both have made it to the post-season, but with les Alouettes at home, I look for something more from them. Larks will fly away from the wild horses, but not by a lot. Montreal wins by 9.

AAARRGGGOOSSSS! DAMN! I planned to take My Argos, but changed at last second.

Com' on Stamps, beat the Al's up so they don't grab 1st place AGAIN!, & help Bombers control their chance at winning the East. !
