Brewers Beat D-Backs in 10 Innings, Advance to NLCS: Winning only the second postseason series in franchise history, the Milwaukee Brewers are headed to the National League Championship Series after defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-2 in 10 innings. A single by Nyjer Morgan scored Carlos Gomez. Morgan celebrated afterwards by going into "beast mode" atop the Brewers dugout.

That was a stressful, stressful game. Kudos to the DBacks for fighting til the end, but damn, we deserve to advance after a 29-year drought.

This thread needs 50 or so messages about what the DBacks did wrong to lose this series...

Good on the Brewers, even though I was hoping that Kirk Gibson's crew would be able to advance.

Whoever that yellow dude is that does the slide act at Miller Park is going to have hypothermia from the waist down when he hits the pool during a mid-October night game.

If we end up with a Detroit - Milwaukee WS, watching that will be about the same thing as watching an outdoor NHL game.

Other than my lingering disappointment that Milwaukee is in Wisconsin and not Michigan, I am excited at the possibility of a couple of teams maybe getting to the World Series who haven't been there in a while.

I'm sure TBS executives loved hearing Nyjer Morgan exclaim "fuck yeah" about three times on national television.

With the bad blood between the Brewers and the Cards, the next week will be Midwest epic.

I'm having vivid flashbacks of the 82 WS.

I blame it on the lack of clutch hitting by ARod.

Where was Kirk Gibson in the clutch when they needed him?

Random contribution from a KC fan: good for Greinke.

Agreed. Hope he goes all the way. Quite a series.

Big-time bad blood between the Brewers and the Cards, and I can't wait for this. I *loathe* TLR, and I want the Crew to have a rollicking good time beating him and his team, and maybe violate some of these "unwritten rules".

If nothing else, it would be highly entertaining to watch the Brewers win using 3 pitchers while TLR goes through his entire bullpen.

I feel pretty confident having Greinke starting Game 1. He's been a total monster at The Keg this year, and clearly feeds off the home crowd. I've said this in the past, but I *really* like him in MKE, and wish we could keep him around for a few more years. He's probably gone after next year, but I just feel like he works with this team and this town.

And let me just put this out there: FUCK YEAH Tony Plush! If he played for the D-Backs or the Cards, I'd probably hate him, but he's so much fun to have playing for the home team.

Something I'd like to see... Verlander vs. Greinke in WS Game 1.

Oh well, I can wish.

Biased as I may be being a Cards fan, I'd love to see Nyjer's happy ass sat down for the winter to watch the team he told in August to enjoy watching the playoffs at home play in the WS. I would LOVE that. And even if he did play for my team, I'm not sure I could grow to love a dude who refers to himself by his self-imposed nickname while speaking in the third person.

He only started re-using the Tony Plush name because it was popular with Milwaukee fans (and inspired a hilarious twitter account).

I don't think Morgan's as bad as people make him out to be. He's acknowledged it was probably a mistake to insult the Cards on Twitter after they played in early September.

Morgan will always have a warm sport in my decidedly biased heart because of this.
