Charlie Davies Says He Lied About Speeding: American forward Charlie Davies, currently playing for the French club Sochaux, said he was not the driver of a car stopped for going 125 mph last weekend but told French police he was to protect a teammate. His Sochaux teammate Jacques Faty asked him to tell police he was driving because Faty thought his license was still suspended, claimed Davies, who was nearly killed in a car accident last year. "I knew he was driving a little fast but didn't know he was driving as fast as he was," he said. "Then I saw a blue flash from a police car."

CD9, you need to think more about who you let drive you around.
