Buckeye Gets Standing Ovation in Ann Arbor: A little less than three years ago, Brock Mealer was told he had a one percent chance to walk again after a Christmas Eve car accident that killed his father and his brother's girlfriend. On Saturday, the Ohio State graduate received a standing ovation as he led the Michigan Wolverines onto the field before the season opener.

Can't put into words how hard this is for me ... but in all seriousness, due to the gravity of the situation ... I tip my cap to UM. And of course, also to Mr. Mealer (that part isn't hard at all).

That is pretty damn cool.

The crowd is cheering so hard for one good reason: if they hadn't been, they would have been sitting there just like I was when I watched the video -- with tears in their eyes. That was quite a moment.

One thing did spoil it, though. Why boo the visiting team, when a little bit of disrespectful silence would have gone a long way? Not cool, Wolverines.

The tribute to Mealer had finished by the time UCONN made it onto the field. The visiting team gets booed wherever you are, I fail to see how it is disrespectful in this case.

That was hard to tell from the video. No disrespect to Michigan fans (except when they play Penn State).
