Godzilla takes New York. Matsui's bases-loaded homer in the fifth inning helped propel the Bronx Bombers to a 7-3 win over the Minnesota Twins in a game that had been postponed by April snow. I just had to use that headline.

Awesome. As a student of Japanese Besubol (Baseball) (Read this book) I can say I'm stoked to see Matsui succeed on the big stage. I was in Japan in early October 2001 when Ichiro was making his MVP run. It is VERY interesting how the Japanese report on Japanese players making an event in US Baseball. Has to be like Al Jazeera reporting on the war - an entirely new perspective. vito not so sober

Mr. Besuboru: (click me)

That home room was a beauty ... he got to a full count and hit it into the stands with finesse. I have seen Barry Bonds swing alot harder for a home room of the same length.

As a Yankee fan I actually opposed the move and expected him to flop (at the time, the only japanese player I liked was the one who sucked, Shinjo) but he has surprised me, and it's great to see him succeed. Keep it up, maybe we can get a 2nd Japanese MVP in 3 years :) Even though Ichiro didn't deserve it

I was hoping the first bomb would happen against the Blue Jays, then Godzilla would stop and defecate on home plate in reference to this.
