Marshawn Lynch accused of stealing $20 from woman: Weapons possession; running over a woman in a hit and run in downtown Buffalo; now this. Marshawn Lynch follows up his horrible season on the football field with probably the most embarrassing of his off-the-field antics.

This story seems fishy to me, particularly given this comment by the police sergeant whose wife allegedly was the victim: "We're not doing this because I'm a policeman. We're doing this because he robbed her. We want it to go to a grand jury. Lynch is a predator."

He's a predator over an alleged $20 theft?

I'm guessing the predator comment comes from this sentence from the article:

"The girlfriend approached Lynch and said, "Give my friend her money back,' and Lynch threatened her saying "Do you know who I am? There's going to be consequences.' "

So the incident happened last month but she didn't give a statement until this past week?

I agree rcade, this story seems very fishy.

So the incident happened last month but she didn't give a statement until this past week?

Given that the complaint was filed promptly, and her reasons for why she delayed in giving the statement, I don't have an issue with it.

The woman's husband, Buffalo Police Sgt. William Crawford, filed a complaint with Hamburg police a day after the incident, but they delayed giving a statement to detectives until Wednesday, in part because she wanted to wait until the Bills' football season ended and Lynch was out of town.

hell, Tiger never did give a statement, and he was assaulted!

Predator is a tad strong. But an arrogant moron for sure, given his priors, which show a pattern of stupidity and a belief that he is, as Crawford suggests, above the law.

That said, I suspect the wife and girlfriend conveniently left out what they said and/or did in between telling Lynch to give the money back and Lynch threatening "consequences." Just doesn't seem like a natural escalation otherwise.

"she wanted to wait until the Bills' football season ended and Lynch was out of town." that makes sense...someone robs you and you wait for them to leave town to give a statement...or you get robbed and you dont make a scene at the time... in a crowded establishment...when someone could help...you simply leave and wait till the next day....what happened to her tab...was it ever paid?...or did she leave and not pay?..after he grabbed the 20 did he run...? doesnt seem so...and a cops wife afraid of some athlete?...sure..if you guys believe that story I have a bridge i would like to sell you all

how fortuitous...i was just telling the wife that we should buy a bridge...would you like a credit card number...? or would you take a check for the lovely bridge

Yeah, Marshawn would buy the bridge with the $20 he stole...then proceed to run a woman over on that same bridge...avoid the law for several days...claim someone else was actually driving on that bridge when the woman was hit...then pay the woman off when it became obvious he was driving...Oh yeah, he'd be packing heat when he was driving over that bridge he purchased, too.

Did the $20 that was allegedly 'stolen' from this lady returned to her eventually? And her cop husband wants to take this to a grand jury? Over $20? Give me a break!
