Arsenal blows!

Looks like Arsenal and Newcastle are heading for the exit. Arsenal 1-2, Newcastle 0-1, both early in the second half.

Shit... Too bad for Newcastle...i'm happy about Arsenal...

Did you send this in, StarFucker?:

"Since, as David O'Connell pointed out in the first half, Massive Attack had to de-warify their name during the last Gulf war, shouldn't Arsenal also shorten their name to sound a little less militaristic this time round?" says David Omerod, who may or may not be related to Southampton striker Brett. "Dropping three letters should do it."
hehe

Me, I'm not so happy about either of them. What a way to ruin my day.

I think I would rather enjoy doing a text commentary at the Guardian. I'd probably do a better job. And my PC wouldn't crash. Now, all I need is to be able to see the game ...

I would certainly nominate you for the job Worldcup. Maybe you'd relate better results.

Judging from the qualifiers into the quarter finals, the Premiership is now slipping behind the Italian and Spanish leagues. Countries represented in the quarter finals: Italy: 3 Teams Spain: 3 Teams England: 1 Team Netherlands: 1 Team

What about Germany?

Bayer Leverkeusen and Borussia Dortmund are both out. As well as (sadly), Arsenal and Newcastle

I will be watching Liverpool crush Celtic. Thanks very much. If all goes well, Emile Heskey will have scored a hattrick. Hohohohoho.

I'll be watching Celtic crush Liverpool. If all goes well, Emile Heskey will score a hattrick of falling on his arse, falling on his face and falling on Michael Owen and crushing him. I'm not joking. Oh OK, I am. I'll be watching at the local, so I'll have a few pints for you. :-)

If all goes well, Emile Heskey will score a hattrick of falling on his arse, falling on his face and falling on Michael Owen and crushing him. I guess if Heskey played in the NBA, we'd call that the triple-bumble or triple-stumble or triple-fumble. Hehehe. You lucky sod, at least you'll get to watch it on the telly. Grrr.

You could always emigrate. How are you "watching" then worldcup2002? Via text commentary?

posted by squealy at 01:06 PM on March 20, 2003

Via text commentary, I'm afraid. If I ever get a trip to England, I will look you up, as well as Fat Buddha and BigCalm, of course. You will have to get me tickets to Anfield, tho. And, yes, I'll go to St. Andrews for a game, too.

I'm assuming that's because you're at work. If not I'm fairly sure Radio 5 Live will have commentary (click on Listen Live), though you'll need broadband and Real Player.

No such luck. They never have the good games on (speaking from experience). Right now they've got all-day coverage of the USA vs Iraq match.
