Alonso to Maranello: Ferrari have annouced that two-time World Champion Fernando Alonso has signed a three year contract with the Italian team and will replace Kimi Raikkonen for the 2010 season.

The worst kept secret in F1.

Not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand I don't like Ferrari as they represent everything politically wrong with Formula One IMO. On saying that, as I said on here a week or two ago, at least Ferrari stab you in the chest while you watch, rather than stab you in the back like Renault.

On the other hand, a lot of the, lets not mince words, bastards who made Ferrari such a force of evil during the Schumacher years are gone, and Alonso is probably the most talented driver in F1 and I really enjoy seeing him race.

Optimistically I hope I can enjoy seeing Ferrari win as it'll be the first time since Jean Alesi left that there will be a driver I actually support driving one.

So, can we expect Kimi to Brawn?? We all might want to root for that, because another option out there is........MS to Brawn. (sorry Drood, I didn't mean to get your blood pressure up) Just call it Bernie's wet dream....

I think we can expect Rosberg to Brawn, Rubens to Williams and possibly Kimi back to McLaren.

If Michael comes back, I am done watching F1. Seriously. I will never watch that man race again. He can get Piquet and go start his own Cheaters F1 Team.

Kimi is SUPPOSEDLY going back to McLaren. Rubens to Williams pleases me as I like both a lot. Rosberg to Brawn... Well it'd be interesting to see him go against Button.

Though to be honest, as I said to a friend today, Button is going to be a pretty unworthy champion. Oh sure he started great, but then what? I mean he's had ONE podium since Turkey. Every time he's had a bad weekend, which has been pretty much every race since Turkey barring Monza, his opponents seem to have gone out of their way to shoot themselves in the foot.

People moaned about Alonso's first championship saying Alonso took it easy etc... But if you check his results, he scored podiums (one of which was a win) in his last six races. I think it was 133 points that won him the title. He finished 3rd in 2007 with 25 MORE points than Jenson has now.

It's like nobody even wants the title.

Interestingly, under Bernie's medal plan, Button would have been crowned champion this weekend.

I like Jenson, but he's reversed into this championship.

Back to Alonso to Maranello, it was weird getting used to him in McLaren colors, but of course that didn't last. Going to be interesting to see him in Ferrari colors. Also like the fact that Fisichella and Alonso are reunited again.

I've waited 5 years for this. Oh happy day.

Now let's forget this season and last season and move back to normalcy in 2010. F1 has been an embarrassment for too long.

By the way, how do you "cheat" at being perennially one full second a lap faster than all of your rivals on every track?

If you think Michael Schumacher is a cheater, I guarantee you have never been to a Formula One race or been in parc ferme or a garage- or a test rack at Fiorano (as I have on all counts). If he's a "cheater" then who's not a cheater? lol

It does seem a little odd that Piquet junior isn't banned for life along with the others. Or picked up any punishment, really.

Anyone who doesn't crash into other drivers to get the results they want?

Juan: Australia 94 (Crashing into Hill), Jerez 97 (Crashing into Villeneuve), Canada 98 (deliberately driving Frentzen off the track), Silverstone 98 (taking a penalty AFTER the race is over), Austria 2000 (Deliberate attempt to force a red flag), Monaco 2006 (parking to prevent Alonso from taking pole).

If you need any more, please do call again. Until then take your "If Michael Schumacher is a cheater..." bullshit and STFU since you're clearly in need of an optometrist if you're that fucking blind.

rodger: Yes it is odd with Piquet, but I SUPPOSE you could say he's punished himself. No team in F1 will ever touch him and the taint of Singapore 2008 will follow him for the rest of his life. (And rightly so.)

"If you think Michael Schumacher is a cheater, I guarantee you have never been to a Formula One race"

Could you stop doing this?
