CFL Pick 'Em, Week 9: The spreadsheet returns north (er, east?) of the border as your host returns from the wild. Apparently they didn't hold up the season for me, so you'd better get in here and make your picks inside.

First of all, a HUGE thank-you to apoch and Reever for holding the fort while I was trampling around Northern Ontario. You guys is awesome.

Back to business! Montreal and Saskatchewan provide the entertainment of the week, going back and forth before the Riders' turnovers proved just too costly. Out west, Winnipeg runs all over the Lions for a 27-point spread.

A slow week for the rest of us, but Spitz and Frisby scratch out enough points to tie for the lead.

What will the second bye week bring? Who knows? I have no idea, I've been on vacation.

WEEK 9

Calgary @ Toronto (Friday, August 28) Toronto is running out of weeks in which to mount their big comeback, and Calgary is not an easy opponent against which to do it.

Hamilton @ Edmonton (Saturday, August 29) All those who thought these two teams would have the same record after eight weeks, please raise your hand. Thank you. Now give Edmonton a slight home edge.

Good luck!

Also note that we made a few small corrections to scoring over the past couple of weeks. Please double-check your own picks and points to make sure we haven't missed anything! Much appreciated.

Yeah, the relatively poor performance of the defending champs so far this season will definitely have to turn around if they're gonna have any chance to defend on home turf in November. Toronto? Well, they pretty much suck. Of course, I (like most everyone else here) could be proven wrong. Not the upset of the week. Calgary by 10.

Splitting this series between the Double E and the Tabbies is the only way for things to be right in the world of football. A sweep would just be w-r-o-n-g in so many ways. As such, the beaten grass at Commonwealth (from an AC/DC concert held there on Wednesday night) will prove to be too short for the TigerCats to sneak up on anyone in green & gold. GO ESKS GO! Edmonton by 21.

BoKnows a lot of things the rest of you don't. If that applies to the CFL is what's in question.

The way Edmonton was turning the ball over I was starting to think that he did. Fortunately, I turned the game off with enough time for the Eskimos to make a come back.
