Theo Fleury is coming back?: At 41 years young, Theo Fleury says he is fit enough to play in the NHL and has hired a personal trainer. He last played in 2003. Six years ago, Fleury was suspended by the NHL for violating the substance abuse program. So now, after playing in Europe, pitching Reality TV shows, playing baseball and a clothing line, Theo plans on returning to the NHL. Right now, his life has never been better.

I like the last link...Good to see an athlete with former issues find his way.

Oh shit - he's broke. There is no way a 41 year-old Theo Fleury can hack the NHL today.

He was one of my favorite players, but the game is too different now. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see the possibility.

I dunno Weedy it seems like he is doing pretty well with his several businesses and impending clothing line and all. I just think that he's bored or going through a mid-life crisis and wants to relive his glory days, kind of like when Uncle Rico wanted a time machine in order to travel back to his high school football playing days. I am just glad to see the guy could get sober. Perhaps playing hockey and being out on the road isn't the best idea for a guy who is a recovered addict.

If that worthless thug Claude Lemieux can come back at 43, why couldn't a spark plug type player like Fleury come back at 41? The question will be if he still has the speed that made him the player he was?

Lemieux's worth may be a matter of some dispute. That thug has a few pieces of jewelry on his hand, and a Conn Smythe trophy in his case. Then again, there are a few Red Wing fans out there...
