Ricky Kaka is a Galactico. Price: $94m: Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez confirmed that Kaka would be just the first of several summer signings. His targets also include Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool's Xabi Alonso. "Kaka is one of the players that every team would like to have and Madrid had the chance to get him," Pérez said. "We are working on building a good team, an important team, and this has only just begun."

Where are all these Euros coming from? I don't see him getting Alonso except for quite a hefty number anyway.

Perez's response to anything has always been to spend ludicrous amounts of money. I suspect that Ronaldo will be the last serious buy of the off-season, rather than the next, if they can get him, because it was the previous president, Vicente Boluda who started the process and Perez wants some of his own impact before doing something that will be seen as finishing work that Boluda started.

I expect Franck Ribery to be the next splash at the Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, Luis Filipe Scolari has clearly lost his luster. After the heights of Chelsea he has signed to coach Bunyodkor. Who are Bunyodkor you ask? Heck, they are the reigning league and cup holder of Uzbekistan and made it to the semi-finals of the (Asian) Champions League this year. W00t or what?!

Rivaldo's also playing at Bunyokdor, and they are backed by some dodgy Central Asian oil money.

So, obviously they're both there for the love of the game.

Well there you go. Shows how much I know.

United accept 80m bid for Ronaldo.

-edit-
That's 80m Pounds, Sterling, but SpoFi still won't accept the symbol.
