The Break of the Curve: Once again the argument is raised, "Does a curve ball really break?" Eric Wilbur in his Boston Sports Blog links to this possible explanation of why the curve seems to break as much as it does. If nothing else, it is fun to play with the settings and see their effect on the illusion. At least the authors admit that there is a physical principal involved, and not just an optical illusion.

That's pretty cool, Howard. But I'm blind now. Thanks.

Bo, didn't your dad tell you to stop that before you went blind?

I don't get it. No matter how hard my kid threw my monitor, I couldn't get the little ball on the screen to break to the left.

I also couldn't get my monitor to go as far as the pitchers mound.

I'm not doing it right.
