Week 23 update for the Spofi EPL fantasy footie.: Worldcup2002 is loudly knocking on third spot... which would be his best placing since sitting in 2nd for the final 22 weeks in 05-06. Well, I guess he's already set that standard since rose no higher than 13th last year...

Looks like the bottom of the table is static. And Skronk has tanked... 12 spot drop in three weeks. Meanwhile, SpoFi Spurs are Code Blue! Medic!

Well done, gspm, well done.

So, I've eaten me some Hamburglar, now it's time for some jellyfish, and then a phatcat, and, based on the pictures squealy linked to a couple of weeks back, I definitely want me some Ardley Athletic.

Hot. And. Cold.

I'm number one! I'm number one! Sorry. First time with the Red Bar, got a little carried away. I was trying to hold out all season, but squealy brought me to my senses, and I picked up Ronaldo last week.

posted by The_Black_Hand at 04:51 AM on January 25, 2008

I feel dirty about doing that as well. All the more since he'll probably stink it up this week.

Thanks for ruining it for the rest of us. You are so not a team player.

posted by YukonGold at 07:18 AM on January 25, 2008

You've know me long enough that comment doesn't even make sense. "Team"? Like "co-operate"? "Compromise"? Good one.

I should concentrate on my own game and stop giving tips to my opponents.

#2 and no change in spots, thankyouallverymuchnot!

I started a new job two weeks ago, and that's about when I started going south again. I missed the transfer window this week completely (the EPL site is blocked at work, and I'm off at trivia stuff the rest of the week), and I paid dearly for it. Scheisse.

posted by chicobangs at 10:48 AM on January 25, 2008

Blocked at work? Maybe I should get a job that does that. That would probably help with the income situation. Is Fabregas going to start scoring again, or is he back to last seasons titillating but no results type of game?

posted by garfield at 12:09 PM on January 25, 2008

Hands off! 17th place is mine all mine.

posted by Texan_lost_in_NY at 12:19 PM on January 25, 2008

Is Fabregas going to start scoring again Guardian podcast says he hasn't been the same since getting hurt.

posted by yerfatma at 01:31 PM on January 25, 2008

His fixture record says the same. Time to re-tool for the remainder methinks.

posted by garfield at 02:59 PM on January 25, 2008

Can I just say how glad I am the league footie is back? Back to keep ass embedded at number 17. At least number 17 represents the Don Meredith jersey I had as a kid...or something...

posted by Texan_lost_in_NY at 01:55 PM on January 29, 2008

Goal and an assist says Cesc is keeping his starting spot.

posted by garfield at 04:53 PM on January 29, 2008

So, who's up for a no-Ronaldo-for-captain league? It sure would spice things up until the end of the season.

posted by Texan_lost_in_NY at 04:13 PM on January 30, 2008

Word.

Ronaldo rulez!

What crap today at Upton Park!

posted by billsaysthis at 10:27 PM on January 30, 2008

Even a draw would have left Rafael Benitez's men still well off the pace for the title and they remain without a win in the league since Boxing Day. Heh.

posted by Texan_lost_in_NY at 03:35 AM on January 31, 2008

What's the odds on Benitez staying past the end of the season? What about until the end of the season?

posted by worldcup2002 at 01:04 PM on January 31, 2008

Depends on if the fans buy the club and if so how soon, WC.

posted by billsaysthis at 03:39 PM on January 31, 2008

I wish I could join a group that could buy the Maple Leafs. Then ownership could be eliminated as a problem source.

posted by garfield at 04:34 PM on January 31, 2008

Erm, bill, given what I've seen of the fan group's efforts, I doubt they're even capable of buying anything more than a premium web hosting account for a year.

posted by worldcup2002 at 05:30 PM on January 31, 2008

Yeah, well, what did G&H buy in the transfer window other than yet another central defender? Where is Pablo Aimar or, heck, Michael Bradley to add something exciting on attack?
