Jesus wept. That is the worst week I have ever had in this competition. I'm bringing the whole squad in for extra training, the useless bastards.

Ha! I'm catching up squealy, 1 point at a time. Although at this rate, we'll be in the bottom half by the time that happens...

posted by sauril at 11:40 AM on April 11, 2005

And I thought gameweek 33 was going to be bad.

Ace.

posted by skronk at 04:25 PM on April 11, 2005

I'm the West Brom of our league...

posted by StarFucker at 04:29 PM on April 11, 2005

that must make me the everton. except that everton hasn't fallen as many spots as I have. they've just sort of fallen back to the front of the pack of also rans.

posted by gspm at 06:36 PM on April 11, 2005

I'm aiming for the top 3. Given that next week will be a disaster for most, and my predictions are off by a week, I'll say I'm pretty much on course.

I've just wasted 12 points on muppets. Sigh.

posted by BigCalm at 04:11 AM on April 12, 2005

Hmm I suppose that makes my team Tottenham (OK that's just Arsenal bias--I'm more likely Blackburn).

posted by trox at 09:27 AM on April 12, 2005

17 pts on the bench. I couldn't have planned it any better.

posted by garfield at 11:48 AM on April 12, 2005

So if i'm the West Brom of the league, i should pretty much be safe from relegation right? Right?!

posted by StarFucker at 10:23 PM on April 15, 2005

ok, anybody else in the top part of the table adjust tweak their team a bit in advance of the lean gameweek but not change the captaincy off of their usual player who happens to be not playing? THAT's the kind of thing that explains why I was at the top but not anymore. Booo.

posted by gspm at 09:40 AM on April 16, 2005

foookin' 'ell. looking at the depleted lineups of those ahead of me and bill's similar captaincy gaffe and my some decent performances in my squad the IF ONLY i'd switch the captaincy to one of my forwards that had a good day (and picking our Johnson for captain woulda been the logical choice given his fantasy totals this season) and I might have surged up the table (sure, only to suffer a bit when the mega depleted teams this week are full of double game gameweeks soon).

I was so freaking stoopid! Just looked at the scores before coming here and thought the same thing. Ugggh!!!

posted by billsaysthis at 03:41 PM on April 16, 2005

Shite, I forgot to change the skipper.

posted by squealy at 07:29 PM on April 16, 2005

(wow, my English in that passage above seems to have been sprinkled with whatever some of the newbies are drinking). Well, with a few other teams near the top making similar captaincy gaffes I guess I don't feel too bad. Out of the top 6 squads the only captains selected that actually played weren't doing so hot so no big loss.

I am Liverpool. Sixth.

I am Aston Villa 1998/99 season, top at Christmas, barely scraping into Europe by the end of the season. A little low scoring this week, no?

posted by BigCalm at 05:20 AM on April 18, 2005

w00t! my second winning week of the year!

posted by garfield at 09:28 AM on April 18, 2005

A little low scoring this week, no? What are you talking about BigC? I was theeeeees close to going double-digits! I see that, somehow, Murcielago, Terrapin and Mossy conspired to score even lower than I. The bounders!

At this rate, I shall catch up with no. 1 in 2007.

Single digit point totals? Ouch. I thought I'd be hosed in this round....

I hope you guys realized there are matches today and tomorrow.

And I hope you realise that Henry is out injured again and the transfer deadline just passed.

posted by squealy at 01:32 PM on April 19, 2005

I haven't had Henry for a month. As for the rest of you, HA!

posted by worldcup2002 at 02:01 PM on April 19, 2005

Giannakopoulos scored today because I was gonna pick him up but then didn't. He did this to spite me. Arse.

posted by gspm at 03:36 PM on April 19, 2005

Gianno did it to spite me too.

posted by worldcup2002 at 04:05 PM on April 19, 2005

I do have the Greek muscle man, so POOP on you both!

posted by billsaysthis at 03:46 PM on April 20, 2005

Out of the three options I was considering in my transfer dealings last week: A) keep Garcia (a goal today, 6pts) B) swap him for Giannakopoulos (a goal yesterday, 6pts) C) swap him for Okocha (played but didn't do any scoring, 2pts) you can guess which one I took.

posted by gspm at 06:14 PM on April 20, 2005

Sixth! I'm now ... the Bolton of our fantasy league.
