I'm in! I had an amazing (lucky) first round (28 of the 32 games) last year, but couldn't hang on to finish on top.

Oh come on! Only 5 people have signed up? It's not like you need any skill (see above), and it's really not that difficult to play. Plus you can name your picks whatever you want. Time to use those shitesport words!

I signed up after not trying my luck for quite a few years. There's really nothing to loose, other than the extreme public humiliation here.

I'm in. Let's go Colorado State. Beat Duke!

Terry Armstrong is in. Cain't nobody fuck with Terry Armstrong pick. Terry Armstrong has insider info, yo. Y'all might as well hand over your money to Terry Armstrong right now. Terry Armstrong gon' walk away with it.

the defending champ is in! *flexes muscles* -- since maryland isn't going to bail out my bracket this year, you guys just mite have a chance.

Alright, I'm in. Every group needs a patsy to make everybody feel better. I'm that guy in this year's tourney picks.

posted by NoMich at 11:40 AM on March 17, 2003

...make everybody feel better... Should've been: ...make everybody else feel better...

posted by NoMich at 11:42 AM on March 17, 2003

I think we need some sort of incentive. What does the overall winner get? What pains must the overall loser endure?

posted by ttrendel at 01:21 AM on March 18, 2003

Okay, I'm in. Cower before my mad bracket skills.

posted by jennyb at 08:13 AM on March 18, 2003

I'm in. I just finished up and I'm certain that my insane bracket will fail. I used the guts and glory pick method.

Ahhhhhh.....any time I pick Boeheim or Keady to win games, I feel like I need to take a shower. I hate my bracket.... Everyone who choked last year will win, and all overachievers from last year will choke this year!!! (I hope...)

posted by smithers at 11:39 AM on March 19, 2003

Done. The teams with the bigger numbers are the better ones, right?

posted by kloeprich at 06:23 PM on March 19, 2003

I'm having bracket anxiety, I just changed my picks again, surely this will be the death of me.

posted by corpse at 11:04 AM on March 20, 2003

Just for kicks, what were your changes corpse? My picks are locked in and it's too late to change them now.

posted by grum@work at 11:33 AM on March 20, 2003

I changed mine too at the last minute. Go Orange!

posted by jasonspaceman at 11:38 AM on March 20, 2003

Terry Armstrong don't make no changes. Terry Armstrong think change is fo' chumps.

posted by vito90 at 12:28 PM on March 20, 2003

The pick I changed was I scratched having NC State upset Oklahoma in the second round. Turned out to be a good move since State bonked out today.

posted by corpse at 02:19 PM on March 20, 2003

i picked lots of upsets really, I hope this will be the year that parity will win out in the tourney, it seems like it's been that way all year. All #1 seeds must fall!

Hey "Infinite Monkey" - your bracket has more red in it than the Chinese Army

posted by vito90 at 11:24 AM on March 21, 2003

Hey "Sister Havana" - well...at least you didn't have Dayton getting past Kentucky

posted by vito90 at 11:27 AM on March 21, 2003

Hey "Pix from the Satellite of Love" - can the "Satellite of Love" even home in on the top of the leader board from where you are? Your bracket is in danger of spinning out of orbit.

posted by vito90 at 11:32 AM on March 21, 2003

damn someone is just itching for a fight. hey "Terry Armstrong" - you do realize first round games, while the hardest to pick, don't mean shit in the scoring. it's all about getting the final four and the champion and i hate to tell ya, but florida is going down in the second round.

posted by danostuporstar at 03:42 PM on March 21, 2003

Shit. Nevermind Florida. Goddamned Ducks lost. I'm hosed.

posted by vito90 at 04:20 PM on March 21, 2003

suddenly i don't feel so bad about my bracket ... at least i'm doing better than andy katz.

posted by danostuporstar at 12:47 PM on March 24, 2003

Someone was just talking about posting drunk ... I think both Andy Katz and I were several mattresses to the wind while we picked.

posted by wfrazerjr at 01:25 PM on March 24, 2003

sheesh! amatuers! not you. the players. I think. who's number one?

posted by jasonspaceman at 09:56 PM on March 25, 2003

who's number 1 in in the spofi bracket, you mean? the mysterious purephase.org has 49 points ... but he/she/it has florida in the final four. NoMich is next at 46 but failed to complete the bracket, no chance there. that leaves WildGuess as the current frontrunner with 44 points and all final four picks still alive.

posted by danostuporstar at 08:21 AM on March 26, 2003

Louisville is out in my final four. Fucking pitino. The rest will prevail though, you will see. Duke, Uconn, and Pittsburg.

posted by corpse at 08:32 AM on March 26, 2003

purephase.org is me. I am just enjoying being on top before I crumble at the end.

posted by jasonspaceman at 08:35 AM on March 26, 2003

I guess I should have been looking more at this thread. Yes, as owner of The Satellite of Love, I am royally screwed now. At least I have another bracket waiting in the wings to win me some $$. Woo hoo!

posted by bcb2k2 at 09:47 AM on March 26, 2003

Hm, I thought I was out of it, but mathematically I can still win. Boo ya! Texas must beat Cuse in the Final Four!

posted by swank6 at 01:58 PM on March 29, 2003

Come on Kansas!!

posted by smithers at 01:18 PM on April 06, 2003

Come on 'Cuse!!

posted by jasonspaceman at 01:25 PM on April 07, 2003

Ohhhhhh jasonspaceman, I knew you were from either upstate NY or southeastern Ontario as soon as I saw the Syracuse pick to win it all ... I'm sorry you've had to witness so much wasted talent over the years ... the horror!! :)

posted by smithers at 06:09 PM on April 07, 2003

Congrats to jasonspaceman!! Carmelo Anthony is sweet ... and he's got a lot of improving left to do yet ... scary.

posted by smithers at 11:20 PM on April 07, 2003

BTW, jasonspaceman asked for it.

posted by smithers at 03:20 AM on April 08, 2003

hahah! That was before I thought I had a chance at winning. There are many other people who would make for a better interview than myself.
