Simply out of Navel-Gazingness (and taking it to a whole new level) I was just curious as to how many SpoFi'ers are actually involved in sports on a personal level (playing or refereeing). Are there any truly active members out there?

As for me, I just finished an indoor soccer league (or mini-football as I think some call it). I'm hoping to join an outdoor team in spring. But soccer's the only sport that I've played all that competitively. Anyone else actively participating in sports?

I also play in a number of soccer leagues. Outdoor, since turf kills my knees.

I play year round...indoor and outdoor... I prefer outdoor of course... Nothing like seeing that free kick curl 30-35 yards away from the keeper into the upper corner of the net... MAN I CAN'T WAIT FOR OUTDOOR!

I play in three rec outdoor coed soccer leagues: two of them are small field, 7-on-7; the other one's regular full-field 11-on-11 (which was a big adjustment after five years of 7-on-7). Thanks to San Francisco's climate, I play year-round. I've also played some indoor soccer, 5-on-5 on a basketball court, and regular 7-on-7 on the cute miniature field. I like indoor, but the 5-on-5 team I play on is taking a break, and the 7-on-7 league isn't run very well.

I play baseball (not softball) in a men's league here in Seattle (Puget Sound Senior Baseball League). My team the Diablos were the champs of the Rocky Division this year. Don't go soft, play hardball!

I play co-ed rec soccer, as a keeper because no one else wants to play that position. We are just finishing off our playoffs for the second league this summer/fall. 5 degrees Celsius, driving rain, muddy football practise field...gotta love it. I also play co-ed rec softball in the spring/summer. I'm very much the soft-hitting, fleet-footed, golden-glove outfielder in the mold of Ichiro Suzuki. And I play in a weekly poker game. Some day I'll try to ply my skills in the World Series of Poker, or at least in the Bellagio poker room.

I used to play indoor soccer, but the center closed down. In college I was on the swim team and for the last year or so I have been playing Water Polo, which is a lot of fun. We only go to about 2 or 3 tournaments each year, but we scrimmage with the UA club teams on a regular basis.

Played hockey all my life, up through college, but haven't skated in 2 years, which drives me nuts. I used to be quite the baseball hitter but never cared enough to try out for anything aside from city league teams. I ended up playing tennis as a spring sport. These days I am trying my hand at a new sport, like corpse, and I'm damn near the best couch potato in the San Carlos, CA area. JBou... I remember that season, that was the year with 2 ties, right? I'm afraid my memory isn't good enough to remember who you are though... I grew up in Oswego so I've always been an Orange fan. Do you coach locally or in another area of the country?
