Was this mefi thread the first ever mention of sportsfilter? I was just wondering about the history of the site.

I think so, and the actual moment of conception (hubba hubba) is part of that discussion.

Which was the first thread (maybe it was in MetaTalk?) to mention the website after it had been put online? I know after that happened, user signups quadrupled. It's also interesting to note that SportsFilter is running on Central Standard Time, as opposed to MetaFilter running on Pacific. When will there be a *filter running on EST for the love of God?
