Two weeks go by, and no one's mentioned beer? And you call yourselves sports fans!

Order, order!! What's the Superbowl without a little homebrew? I currently have 15 gallons of porter brewing in the back room. My Bowl brew this year was pepper beer- a nice Golden brew with a slice of jalapeno put in the bottom of each bottle prior to carbonation. Any other homebrewers out there?

Well, I don't drink much, but I've been called out as one who gets intoxicated by "girl drinks". Which reminds me of a guy who was silly enough to come to our Redskins bar and order a margarita with an umbrella. Let's just say he was the object of derision from kickoff to halftime.

Any other homebrewers out there? Yeah: here's a tip for your next batch of porter (or stout): use black treacle instead of sugar. You'll know why when it's ready.

My Bowl brew is a pinch from this bag and pinch from that bag.

Let's just say he was the object of derision from kickoff to halftime. Was everybody too drunk to care by halftime?

Stella Artois all the way baby. But yes, sometimes Guinness or Mackeson's.

Presumably, if the crowd had any sense, U2 were the objects of derision after halftime...

Actually, I was pretty much all out of derision after Paul McCartney's less than stirring "Freedom." By the way, what was the "Official Beer of the Super Bowl"? I think I recall it being Miller, but then there were a bunch Bud commercials. I think all of those Coors Lights clouded my memory. What was the deal? And does it really make a difference?

I miss the Bud Bowl, although the ruined the integrity of the game when they added Bud Ice.

I've recently discovered Muadite and Fin Du Monde. Maybe not great sports-viewing beer (a bit sweet), but damn good stuff for the bar. In particular, if you are a Bostonian, check out Bukowski's, the great little hole with the Wheel Of Beer where I was introduced to these two beauties.
