A weaker pitching staff? They'll be starting Halladay, A.J. Burnett, Gustavo Chacin, Ted Lilly, and an improving Josh Towers. That's pretty much the best front 5 in all of baseball. They do have too many corner infielders right now, but all that means is they are not done improving yet. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jays move both Shea Hillenbrand and Eric Hinske - The Jays are definitely MUCH improved.

I think the McCabe pick was to appease the stupid Leafs fans in Toronto who otherwise have no one on the CDN team. Hopefully we won't have any defensive injuries and we won't have to use him. I'd have taken Eric Staal over Shane Doan personally. I understand having "role players", but we've already got Ryan Smyth and Kris Draper filling that need.

The Dodgers get a great player, and trade a good player. The Red Sox get TWO great players and trade a great player. The Phillies get a player they don't really want and trade two great players? I'm guessing a Red Sox fan made up that deal. That's my guess ... this one was made up in the land of rainbows and fairies and happy RedSox thoughts. Very unlikely. Something very roughly resembling some of the players in this deal may eventually materialize ... if it happens as described above, the Phillies have: a/ made some bad investments on the NYSE and have to sell to cover a margin call. or b/ completely lost their minds.

"Now that he's in NY we can show the world what true freedom means." We can ... but we won't.

I don't really think that the point should be if we like GBA or not or even if we agree with Delgado's "stand" against or not - the point is whether the Met's as Carlos' employer should be able to force him to stand for a song against his will. Should the Met's be telling him to shut up and like it? That doesn't seem all that "american" of them.

Jay Feely choked and gave back that game that the refs handed to the Giants on a silver platter. The Giants, however, did not deserve to win that game considering that the league called to apologize to the SeaHawks for allowing 2 bogus TD's for NYG in one badly refereed game.

Dodgers get: Manny Phillies get: D. Lowe Sox get: Bobby Abreu Jimmy Rollins The only team that looks good for is the Red Sox ... the Phillies would have to be completely out of their gourds to pull the trigger on that steaming pile of monkey shit deal.

I hope the Yankees sign Roger (the attention whore) Clemons to 20 million bucks per year for 3 years and then he goes out and stinks up Yankee stadium so badly he makes Tanyon Sturtze look like Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson feel like a spring chicken. Clemons has a long history of screwing his own team over and making them look bad - nice to see it finally backfire on him.

If I recall correctly, Carlos spurned the Mets last time around when he signed with the Fish - I'm guessing oppressive management may have had something to do with that. I agree with DrJohnEvans - I think the "employee #21" comment is hilarious - and cutting - and hopefully it hit it's mark with the ridiculous front office at Shea.
