Sports Bio

Born a Philadelphia Athletcs fan. Got stuck with the Phillies after the A's moved. Was at Shea for Jim Bunning's perfect game (was at the worlds fair and my dad said "Lets take in a ballgame"). Am now a SFBay Area resident and an Oakland A's devotee. I bleed Green and Gold, though I've been taking antibiotics for that. NFL...well, I guess the Iggles are my favorites, despite T.O.

Recent Comments

Bad Luck for the Carolina Panthers.

It's a young man making a very mature, adult decision. He's finishing the things he starts. As a dad, I'm damn proud of him.

So Long, Shooter

RIP Shooter. I'm keeping a good thought for his family. The BayArea will remember a tough competitor.

Man beats world hot dog eating record

I just wish "bicycle eating" was still a Guinness quest. I'd love to hear Chris Berman's "amusing" commentary and nicknames.

Hall of Famer denies holding racist views on players

Here's a copy of the email I sent to Claiborne, after hearing his interview and listening to a bit of KFNS stream. (I'm just getting over steaming about the firing of one of my local talkers, Larry Krueger).... Never heard of you before the Feller debacle. Wish it was still that way. Guess I'm spoiled on good sportstalk, because, in my humble 54 year old opinion, you are fairly devoid of talent, though, in your business, a big fat, fast mouth combined with a vacuous brainpan can add up to an hour show on FOXSports. Thank God I cut my teeth on WIP Philly and KNBR San Francisco. My heart goes out to the great fans of St Louis who are stuck with you and your bush league station. "He shoulda slud!" Dizzy Dean

Hall of Famer denies holding racist views on players

I'm very liberal and I think PC is a direct affront to the first amendment. The easiest way to find out if a person is racist, ignorant, feebleminded, or whatever, is to let them speak and let them be heard. You shouldnt go to jail for what you say, but you may damn sure lose your job for it. Losing the job is distasteful, but constitutional. "He shoulda slud!" Dizzy Dean

I really dont know if it's racism; I tend to think its the ignorance of an old man from another era. Offensive...yes; racist...I dont think so. "He shoulda slud!" Dizzy Dean

Krueger is fired

Well, as of last night, I guess the discussion of should he or shouldn't he is moot. The ax sure came down. Krueger screwed up, but Agnew and Rhein were just putting on a morning show, which frequently is comedy-laden and offends by definition, eg. John London, Not Just Sports Show. This has gotten out of hand and I feel the clammy hand of political correctness grabbing up the situation. These guys are pros and everybody screws up once in a while. Shove them in the doghouse and let them out after a while. This was a gross overreaction. "He shoulda slud!" Dizzy Dean
