Ohhh if hitting is what it takes to win the award. Might I suggest Chris Young. Young > 29 HR's 60 RBI's 78 R and 24 SB's caught 4 times and hit into 4 DP's Braun > 30HR's 79 RBI's 74 R and 14 SB's caught 4 times and has hit into 11 DP's They both strikeout at about the same percentage. 25%.

Keep this in mind. Why wasn't Braun up on opening day?? Was it Tony " The Hitman" Gaffanino stopping him?? Or do you need to field a baseball to play in the majors. Baseball is more then hitting. I tell my son everyday. Hitting the ball will get you in the game. Fielding the ball wil keep you in the game. But you have to do both.
Falcons QB Michael Vick Indicted on Federal Charges; somewhat of a surprise, given that two weeks ago, most legal pundits familiar with the case said it was unlikely that Vick would face charges. Vick and three others are charged with violating federal laws against competitive dog fighting, procuring and training pit bulls for it and conducting the enterprise across state lines. The indictment alleges that Vick and his co-defendants began dog fighting in early 2001, the former Virginia Tech star's rookie year with the Falcons.

Above the Law......O.J killed people. Vick kills dogs ( which I agree is gross and sick ) Why would he do any time if O.J. didn't. Or Robert Blake Or Teddy Kennedy.... Famous people rarely do jail time.....God bless america..... How hard is it to get Canadian citizenship????
Down Goes De La Hoya "When I was boxing him, I said, 'Damn, it's easy hitting him in the face,'" said Floyd Mayweather Jr. after his split-decision victory over Oscar De La Hoya in one of the most anticipated title fights in years. "How'd he beat all those guys when it's so easy to him in the face?"

Pacers Bounce Carlisle The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday that Rick Carlisle will not return as head coach. In four seasons as Pacers coach, Carlisle compiled a 181-147 record (.552 winning percentage). The Pacers made the NBA playoffs in three of the four seasons and reached the Eastern Conference Finals in Carlisle’s first year, 2003-04. That same season, the Pacers posted a 61-21 record, the best in franchise history.

Abandoning Your Post. Would abolishing the 3 point line improve FG%? Spacing? Kevin Arnovitz has some interesting analysis of SI's article about the issue.

Hey and changing to a new basketball would be the obvious thing to do. And change the shot clock to 23.8 seconds. Free Throws should be guarded except for Shaq. Raise the goal to 11' before halftime and 12' after halftime. Extend the court to exactly one NYC block. Play Ball. Oh and let's not call it Basketball anymore. My point is can they just keep the rules and the game the same for ummmmm let's say ONE YEAR.

I love a rodeo where the rider gets mauled by the bull or horses. I love a horse race where a rider gets the shit kicked out of him in the starting gate. Horse racing is cruel. Rodeos are cruel. And what they did to that horse was inexcusable. Rot in hell you rich bastards.
Zito Breaks the Bank. Barry Zito stays in the Bay Area, signing a seven-year deal worth $126 million. It's the richest contract for a pitcher in Major League Baseball history.

Court rules MLB players can be ID'd for steroids The names and urine samples of about 100 Major League Baseball players who tested positive three years ago can be used by federal investigators, a court ruled Wednesday — a decision that could have implications for Barry Bonds Whoever Cheated.

OK Grum, if everyone stops going to baseball games and buying any MLB merchandise and see if they can pay Barry Zito. They can't. So in essence the fans pay the salaries. The owners of MLB teams are not rich enough to pay a hundred million dollars a year without some revenue. Shit even Bill Gates would go broke. But I do stand corrected they can not go back and make the 100 names public. Or punish them. There was an agreement to the silence of who came up positive. But I hope in the future they go public with the names of any violators and hand out severe penalties. #2. New stadiums have a part in those concession prices but where do those owners come up with the money for those salaries??? As for your #4. Hell yes I expect them to be drug free as well. I will admit I find humor in the fact that Willie Nelson is still smokin weed at the age of 73. Maybe at 73 I will have to alter my reality to enjoy life. The connection. If you have to alter your chemical make up to be a better baseball player maybe you should not be a baseball player. Drugs are illegal. People who take drugs are breaking the law.

Anonymity??? We pay these guys their salaries not the owners. I don't usually buy shirts for $100.00, or a seat for $50.00, or A beer for $6.00, a hot dog for $3.00. But if I go to a ball game, I will be expected to. If that is what the players EXPECT from me. I EXPECT my players to be drug free, and have some morality about themselves. Not to start a completly different debate but, some want to compare Bonds, McGwire, Sosa etc...To Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth played drunk and fat (Sorry Mr. Ruth and his family) the afore mentioned players are playing under the influence of performance enhancing drugs...(Allegdedly). In the county I live in, if you are processed in the county jail your name appears in the paper, whether your guilty or not. I say these guys have been sheltered and babied long enough. Print the names, suspend them for a year for a first offense. Lifetime suspension for a second offense. Cause everyone deserves a second chance not a third.
You guys are forgetting the biggest no bat all glove ( he was fun to watch ) ... Rey Ordonez.
