In the last six weeks, Jackson has accounted for 1005 yards from scrimmage and four TDs, while playing without the best left tackle in football. Being able to do that, while the passing game has been practically non-existent, moves him out of the "average" category in my book. Opinions vary. But since you like stats- here's a good one (the only one that matters!) Rams record during that same six weeks, 1-5. The point of my post: This Team Is Done!!
Good News: The Sparks are staying in Los Angeles. Bad News: Their best player is taking the year off.

I'm not sure the Rams have what it takes to keep the Bears (even with Grossman) from scoring. Did you watch the rams last week?? In the past, even when the rams had sub-par teams, they were tough at home. Last week they stunk up the joint against a sub-sub-par team. This team is done! The defense is again showing their lack of talent. An offensive line that has done nothing but pass block for 6 or 7 years can't create holes for a running back who has yet to prove (at least to me) that he is anything more than an average NFL back. And when the O-line does pass block, Bulger can't find one of the best receivers in the game. Note to Hoser: Pick whoever the Rams are playing as your "Lock of the week" for the rest of the season!!!
Yankees Ink Pettitte To One-Year Deal One year, $16 Million, with an option for 2008. Could this mean Roger Clemens will be back in pinstripes too?

16 Million for 1 year seems like an awful lot for a guy who has seemed to have an injury bug the last couple of seasons. He is great when he is healthy- let the yankees have him. The NL Central is shaping up to be tough enough on my WORLD CHAMPION CARDINALS!! (I love typing that!!)
Be True to Your School! While I was digging for some more info on this FPP, I found this on the NCCA site. You can search by university, and find out how many NCAA titles your school has won, broken down by gender and sport. How many have you got?

Florida Will Face Ohio State in BCS Championship Game Thanks to votes in the non-computer polls, Florida jumped over Michigan to grab the No. 2 spot and a chance to face Ohio State for the national championship. This is the first meeting ever between the storied college football programs.

"It's a shame that neither team could make it with only two teams from each conference being able to make the BCS" That's my biggest gripe- Notre Dame is independent!! Admittedly, they play some tough teams- but if I am not mistaken, the BCS is set up as the five "major" conference champs- and Notre Dame if elig. That is Horse@#$&!!! Get in a conference and earn your way just like the other nine BCS teams do! Why is the Irish football team not in a conference anyway??? Their basketball team plays in the Big East, Why not football- because they don't want to join a good conference (Big East, or the logical Big 10) for fear of getting pounded, and they can't justify going to a non BCS conference. However, if they did, I'm sure the BCS would anoint that conference as BCS eligible. TV and sports writers would just die without their beloved Golden Domers!!!!!!
Bonds not offered Arbitration Who is Barry going to play for next year? My guess is an American league contender, possibly the Yankees

I'll say he goes to the Mexican League. Much easier to get steroids down there, and none of those annoying drug tests. "It's just too bad that wasn't enough for him." I totally agree dyams!! I saw Barry play as a Sun-Devil in the College World Series. No one was more exciting and that continued into his early Major League career. He has said that enhancers never effected his skills, but what he will probably never see is that they have and will forever effect his legacy. He will probably go into the hall- and be the first member booed at the induction ceremony!!!
Another Opinion on the BCS Just to keep the BCS controversy going, here is an interesting column from "The Washington Post"

Would have liked to see Michigan, but Florida is certainly deserving. I think an even bigger controversy is Notre Dame getting in!!! Check out: msn.foxsports.com There are certainly schools more deserving!!!
Dallas Cowboys Boot Vanderjagt The most accurate kicker in NFL history was cut today, eight months after signing a three-year, $5.5 million deal with a $2.5 million signing bonus. Vanderjagt missed 5 out of 18 field goals this season, some hopeless from the moment they left the Vanderfoot. He's been replaced with Martin Gramatica.

Wojciechowski: BCS System Needs Extreme Makeover "I hate the BCS," declares ESPN's Gene Wojciechowski. "I hate it because the two best teams in the country aren't going to play in the national title game."

There will never be playoffs because the bowls mean big $$ for the schools. The BCS sucks and may never work. How many times has the National Championship game had a team that didn't even when their conference (My Huskers were one of them) And it could happen again this year. That being said, I say go back to the old days before the BCS. I see a lot of Michigan and Ohio St fans on this site- Remember when it was all about the Rose Bowl. I have always been a Husker fan, but grew up in Iowa- The few times the Hawkeyes went to the Rose Bowl meant a lot to the state. Every Jan 1st bowl game was important and I think the college game was better because of it!! Sure, there was always a lot of talk about the polls being screwed up- but that hasn't changed. There were a few times you had a #1 vs #2 matchup in a bowl, but if you didn't, #1 never got a free pass. And is a shared National Championship such a terrible thing? Do any of the teams that have shared a National Championship consider themselves #2. What if USC gets in? Ohio State VS Southern Cal would be a classic Rose Bowl. Too bad it's not in Pasadena!!!!
The Hoser's NFL Picks, Week 12 NFL Picks that wonder just how strong the fan is in the bathroom on John Madden's bus.
