Jim Brown calls out Tiger Woods I thought that Tiger handled this very well. Apparently Jim Brown thinks Tiger should have called in Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

The best athletes ever, by number. A team of SI.com's finest numerologists crunched the data on jersey numbers to come up with the best performers (across all sports) at each number from 00 to 99 (Eddie Gaedel was a lock at 1/8).

Mike Tyson's Downward Spiral Continues. Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson was arrested this morning in Scottsdale, Arizona after leaving a nightclub. Deputies stopped Tyson after he pulled out into traffic, nearly hitting a parked sheriff's cruiser. Tyson failed a field sobriety test, and a subsequent search found cocaine on him and in his car.

Time to restore 61 as the gold standard in baseball It was 45 years ago last week, and Roger Maris' hair had not yet begun to fall out. A bigger milestone awaited, but on Aug. 22, 1961, Maris hit a home run off of Ken McBride of the Los Angeles Angels that had its own place in history.

An American Tragedy: Pat Tillman's Uncertain Death. ESPN today published an exhaustive investigative report into the death of America's most celebrated volunteer -- former Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tillman. In Part One, ESPN asks: "Was the Army and/or the White House so desperate for a positive spin that they morphed Pat Tillman into a male version of Jessica Lynch? ... Tillman's Silver Star suggests the possibility of spin."

No World Cup love for Team USA Our beloved "football" team just lost 2-1 to Ghana, sending Ghana to the second round and the US back home. Disappointment runs rampant, especially since Italy beat the Czech Republic 2-1. Only one goal the entire round? Pathetic.

"The King" Thinks women should not be in Racing Richard Petty said that women should not be in NASCAR.

I think women can be in racing! As long as the IRL or NASCAR, don't pimp them off anymore than they do the men. But Danica is the darling whore for the IRL, but hasn't won anything.

Barbaro pulls up lame in Preakness After a fidgety pre-race afternoon, breaking through the gate and false-starting, and a good clean start, Kentucky Derby winner and strong favorite Barbaro was pulled up in the opening lengths of the Preakness by jockey Edgar Prado after taking a bad step and injuring his right hind ankle. The attending veterinarian said that it "looks like a significant injury".

The problem is thoroughbreds don't take to casts well. They are high strung and often re-injure the break. I can site a filly named ruffian as an example..

Tiger takes the plunge Tiger Woods traveled to New Zealand this weekend to be the best man at the wedding of Steve Williams, his long-time caddy. While there, he took the time to bungee jump 134m (about 440 ft) from a cable car into Nevis Valley. One can't help but wonder if Mark Steinberg had a heart attack when he heard about this. According to the article, Tiger says his insurance was "taken care of."
