Men Want to Know How a Batter Swings A page design article on an eye-tracking study offers a tidbit on how people observe baseball players at bat, using a photo of George Brett as a test. Women looked at Brett's face. Men divided their time between his face and his equipment. (Via Jason Kottke).

Jackson, others shoot their way out of Indiana The Pacers have traded Stephen Jackson, Al Harrington, Josh Powell, and fan favorite Sarunas Jasikevicius to the Golden State Warriors for Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy, Ike Diogu, and Kieth McLeod.

sorry kyjac1... they didnt. As a diehard warrior fan and frequent visitor to Goldenstateofmind.com i will tell you that murphleavy, as we call them, are mediocre NBA players getting paid like borderline all stars. murphy is just unathletic, doesnt play defense, has no post game, and is a pretty good shooter, and rebounder. Dunleavy has no strengths except this year he has become a better shooter. he is soft, inconsistant and his only real stregnth (his basketball iq) i would have to say is over-rated. They are decent and could possibly flourish in indiana but they sure have been busts over here. now, ike diagu on the other hand could be pretty damn good. pheonominal in the post, good rebounder, blocks a few shots, good weakside defender, young, long arms. his only downside may be how smart he is we're not that sure and he is only 6 8. mcloud is a solid backup point gaurd, personally i liked him and i liked ike and were sad to see them go, but i like the fact that we gave up murphleavy and we got some good players. can anyone tell me about josh powell? and weedymcsmokey... havent you heard snoop dogg or the game rap at all? im sure california weed is much better then indiana weed
Arenas On Kobe: "My Numbers Are Blowing His Out Of The Water" Gilbert Arenas has been putting up a lot of points this season and feels that his numbers compare well to Kobe Bryant's. "I'm glad what I'm doing is on national television so they can finally see what I did in the past; my 29 [points per game last season] is not a fluke. What I did in the playoffs is not a fluke. What I've done the last five years is not a fluke," Arenas said. "Everybody says, 'Oh, he's not better than this person, he's not better than that person.' But if you go year by year, number-wise, what's the difference between me and Kobe? He had Shaq. He got three rings. Other than that, my numbers are blowing his out of the water the first six years in the league.

gilbert is hella raw dood! kobe is playing kinda weak this year anyway htey even say he plays different and he doesnt want to take over and he wants to set up other players. i mean kobe is probably better then gilbert, but i think gilbert is right there after kobe lebron and d wade i really think he is right with them or barely after.

NBA introduces a new basketball the first change in more than 35 years! (but it's still orange, don't worry.)

Pistons stand in LeBron's way, just as they did for Jordan. "Before Jordan became a champion, he was fodder for the Pistons in three straight postseasons."

i dont think theres any doubt that detroit will win this series. I dont think there was any doubt they would win even before game 1. They are too good of a Team and this is lebrons first playoffs. Detroit should win the finals but for lebron i think if he can get a few good players around him, in a few years he could have a shot at the finals. In my opinion he is the real deal and still has room to improve. He is still only 21 years old. Look at all the other superstars including jordan and where they were at age 21
The NBA has a problem And this problem is reflective of many issues the league, and the sport of basketball on the whole, faces: there is zero respect shown to refs.
