Report: Jets caught spying Apparently, the New England Patriots aren't the only team that uses cameras.

Last minute rally moves Patriots to 12-0 but how much longer can the defense let teams run the ball down their throats?

Casualties of the NFL: The fits, when they come, turn him as white as the walls and send unself-conscious tears down his cheeks. It's DeMarco at 35: dirt-poor, broken, and in a headfirst spiral, taking his wife and children down with him. .... "There was no food in the house, and I mean none -- not a box of mac and cheese or a can of tuna ..... Brian and Autumn hadn't eaten in a couple of days and between them had 75 cents. Total." A harrowing account of post-NFL experiences.

The Beatings Will Continue Until Morale Improves Wisconsin youth football coach threatens to kill one of his own players, then administers a helicopter slam, just to drive the message home. You know, maybe we should sign the kids up for the Debate Club instead.

While I like to believe that I would probably knock this asshole out, I also agree with setting a better example. Truth be told, not one of us really knows what we would do unless faced with the situation ourselves. I coach for a middle school team and needed a local, state and federal background check before I could step foot on the field. Adults need to let go of their past failures(not that I know what this guy's past is) and stop trying to correct them through their children. I agree that adults are the worst thing about youth sports, but if they would let themselves, they could be youth sports' biggest asset.
Goodbye Paul. One of the men that have made huge contributions to the NFL is now retiring. Paul Tagliabue, commissioner of the NFL is retiring after negotiating a very tough labor deal. The NFL will miss the leadership of the man who has overseen a massive stadium rebuilding plan that has replaced over two-thirds of the 32 teams stadiums.

bperk, I'm with you on the cable thing. Being a Dolphins fan in Pennsylvania, I get to see them maybe twice a year. I had satellite, but like cable there is so much unwanted garbage on it, I decided to get rid of it. I'd be willing to pay $10-$15 dollars a week to see the Phins on a service I already have. And I would guess there are many more fans that would too. No doubt Tagliabue has done a good job. The NFL is the class of the 4 major sports leagues in the U. S.
T.O. in Big D Terrell Owens has reached an agreement in principle to join the Dallas Cowboys. The signing comes six years after he showed contempt for the franchise by spiking two touchdowns on the star at the midfield of Texas Stadium, the second of which resulted in George Teague drawing the most beloved unsportsmanlike conduct foul in Cowboys history.

TO is an incredible douchebag with amazing football abilities. I am thankful that the Dolphins didn't do more to land him because they have enough problems already. I don't think there is any coach in the league that has a better shot of handling him than Bill Parcells. If the Cowboys are his "third strike", I don't think you will ever see anybody take a chance on him again. Then we'll see the media interview him in 5 years and he''ll wonder aloud what went wrong and try to explain why he was so misunderstood. Shut the "F" up and play football.
Kirby Puckett Passes Away Seeing things like this should make us all step back and realize that life is way too short. The world will truly miss his presence (News story).

One of the truly good guys that ever played the sport. My interest in pro baseball has waned over the years, but if the league were full of Kirby Pucketts, I would be a born again fan.
RIP, Kirby. My condolences to his family.
Awesome short video from last night's CBS News an autistic student being called into his first basketball game. Watch it until the end, it kicks ass.

I have been coaching youth sports for the better part of 20 years and was in awe when I saw this. If this does't inspire you to work harder or quit whining about your own troubles, nothing will.

It amazes me how certain people will defend the rule breaking of professional athletes, considering that people in the private sector would be disciplined or fired for breaking the rules at their job. I've been a Dolphins fan for 35 years and am upset by this latest development, if it is true. I was of the contention that the Dolphins should have never taken him back in the first place. As soon as he came back he should have been traded for whatever the Phins could get. While he is an incredibly gifted athlete he is a head case who cares nothing for the rules he agreed to follow. This guy has the potential to be a Hall-of-Famer, but that has pretty much gone down the tubes. The previous comments hinting at racism or decriminalization of pot have no relevance here. Whatever happened to personal responsibility and ensuring that rules are followed. Stop making excuses for the idiot and every other athlete who breaks the laws they consider themselves to be above.

yerfatma, the employee manual from my job states clearly that I can be subjected to drug-testing any time that my employer gives me notice that this is their wish. It also clearly states that if found positive, I would be subject to discipline up to and including termination. It doesn't matter how many times I'm tested, what does matter is that I understand the ramifications and I have to take personal resposibility for my actions. Ricky certainly knew the rules, and given that he already had 3 previous violations, he knew scrutiny would be that much more intense.
Tainted Steel Our mission is to raise money to put up a billboard in front of Heinz Field in which the truth will be on display for all to see. Its location will draw attention from the national media and embarass the NFL.

For nine days I have read the comments and have enjoyed them immensely. As a neutral observer who was rooting for the Steelers( loyal to my home state of PA) let's call the Super Bowl what it was: pretty poor football. Neither team played that well, the officiating sucked and Mike Holmgren got out-coached. I did however enjoy the fact that the two biggest shit talkers before the game, Porter and Stevens, produced very little. SHUT UP and play football. The best thing about the game was the food, the beer, and my widescreen TV. The game is in the books and nothing can change that.
Chico, funniest damn comment I've ever read on SpoFi...and that's sayin a lot.
