Casualties of the NFL: The fits, when they come, turn him as white as the walls and send unself-conscious tears down his cheeks. It's DeMarco at 35: dirt-poor, broken, and in a headfirst spiral, taking his wife and children down with him. .... "There was no food in the house, and I mean none -- not a box of mac and cheese or a can of tuna ..... Brian and Autumn hadn't eaten in a couple of days and between them had 75 cents. Total." A harrowing account of post-NFL experiences.

Ineffective union representation and free agency opened the door for the parasitic cankers known as sports agents to enter and rape the league. This “show me the money” attitude has debased player loyalty to any one particular team. But what else could players do when the union is in the owners pocket but move around every three of four years? As soon as an injury sidelines a player, besides the team, he becomes a liability to both the agent and the union. I say sports agents need to step-up with the insurance policies during negotiations of players contracts and be forced to take some of the responsibility, as well as broadcast networks and any of the rest that get rich putting saddles on players backs for the ride to the bank. I do believe this can be easily fixed if the exploiters greed was added into equation before the paydays. This shameless apathy really pisses me off, greedy bastards.
Let the league migrate to pay per view and see what happens. I know one thing, I will not be buying a thirty dollar cap or180 buck jersey from the NFL. Hell, I’ll go to the flee market and get that swag for 5 and 10 dollars and send the difference to Ditkas bunch. Rookies need to know what they are getting into before any ink is on paper and this article is a good place to start their education.

BB is a cheater that got caught cheating and lying about it to a bunch of other lying cheaters. He was given a free pass to tell the truth like the others did (JG e.g.) bb chose to play stupid, actually I don’t think he or feds could have played it any other way. One thing for sure, he or the witch-hunters will never be accused of taking “intelligence enhancing drugs” unless truth pays more than lying and cheating. (Add something about pots and black kettles here.) For the obvious betrayal of honest american trust strike his name from the record books if the intention is use bb a an example. But complicity of the commish to plant butts in seats is to be faulted. If the feds wanted to do something productive about professional sports doping, knowing the pros cannot or will not police themselves, they would have done it by now. It is always about the Benjamins.
Northwestern University football coach Randy Walker is dead. He died last night of an apparent heart attack. Walker was 52 years old and was the second winningest coach in school history.

America's Favorite Player Released. The man who has given sportsblogs across America things to talk about over the course of the past few months has finally been released and is free to find another team. Even if you're oblivious to everything in the sports world, you can tell something went bad when the team announces his release in a one sentence statement.

Kirby Puckett Passes Away Seeing things like this should make us all step back and realize that life is way too short. The world will truly miss his presence (News story).

What Will NASCAR Do About 'Buschwackers?' Interesting problem. I think there should be some sort of restrictions on this, and quick or the future talent pool may suffer.

Nascar only sees $$, a few cup drivers draw more fans which draws more sponsors which draws more $$. Veteran cup drivers also provide experience for bush drivers learn from. However, if the bushwhackers run off all the new talent everybody loses. I believe Nascar will get it together they seem to be a very shrewed bunch.

People that feel a need to correct others mistakes, such as spelling and grammar, have a need to feel superior and most likely issues with self-esteem.
In the last 10 years Nascar has grown exponentially...wonder why?

This, no doubt, will take some of the drama out of the game. McEnroe-ish outburst will be minimized. But I see potential for abuse, such as a winded player asking for a closer look, breaking up extended volleys and such. It will be interesting so see how this plays out this season.
No progress, but talks might resume March 5 Hopefully, both sides will come to some kind of agreement. If not, this could spell disaster for quite a few teams. With no salary cap in 2007, it would be like a league wide "free-for-all."

I think this is all a bunch of "posturing and saber rattling", as they say in politics, and neither side can give in for fear of looking weak. As always the loyal fan is the one who gets screwed. A starring contest waiting for the other to blink first. Neither side has the testes to derail the gravy-train.
Now shooting the bonus ... Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko gets a pass from his wife once a year to sleep with another woman. On ESPN's own "Pardon the Interruption" television show, Tony Kornheiser, said, "She is a Top 5 wife, all-time. In fact, she is up there right now on the Mount Rushmore of wives."

How about a little bit of downhill skating combined with snowboard cross and bodychecking? A sport that Dr Frankenstein would enjoy watching with the Hanson brothers - Crashed Ice. It is in Quebec City's old town this weekend.

Reminds me of that old nintendo game "skate or Die". I'll be looking for the skater with wings. What where those round looking dial things on that TV??

I believe the next time a major record is broken the ump. ought to be standing there at home plate with a jar for a sample in front of the crowd before it is recorded in the record book. The asterisk wing at the HOF can have enhanced players compete with each other for best juiced category.
How do you score? A sample of the Wonderlic IQ Test.

Tommy John or Phil Necro(?sic) would have told the truth. I watched the hearing and I have made up my mind, I have spent my life, ( fifty years) watching people, providing for my family, my mind is made up. I don't need an expert to tell me who is lying. Say it ain't so Joe. don't mean sh#t. oh my, supermodel wife used but i don't know nothing insults my intelligence and it should yours too, but lets talk to the nanny before the fed do, just to make sure we both tell the profitable truth. This indian getting out of the canoe.
