Think you are having a bad day? I am the Coach of the Michigan Mustangs & I was on the bus that had the accident. Luckily my son was not injured in the crash. I posted this story as an inspiration, when you think you are having a bad day……. I just talked to Mo and he is doing great. He deserves the award he got from MDA. Mo holds a Masters Degree from Michigan Sate University & works there currently helping students with special needs. Check out the Wheel Chair Hockey League; www.thewchl.com or The Calgary Tournament; http://www.powerhockey.ca/phc2006/ We are hopeful to bring the Power Hockey Cup to the Michigan in 2010, & we plan on playing some exhibition games in Toronto summer 2007. We will also participate in the PHC 2008 location TBD. (Either Toronto or North Carolina)

Hockey patch checks kids' injuries Kevin Stubbington can enjoy a special sense of pride when he watches his grandson step on the ice for his first ever hockey gamethis year wearing the familiar STOP patch on the back of his jersey.

this does work. Kids tend to pull out of thier check when they can see the "STOP" sign (patch) Long over due in youth hockey.
Great post, with the start of youth hockey season here.
My youngets skated with his new team a couple of days ago.
2007 NFL Draft. Early projections on the top 20 college player picks.

Let’s remember that the Heisman Trophy is for football accomplishments at the collegiate level. It has very little to do with what the NFL sees in a player or what the player will become at the next level.
Eric Crouch anyone? A perfect example that the HT doesn’t have any relevance to the NFL. How bout Andre Ware? Please don’t blame the Lions for Mr. Ware; he just wasn’t an NFL talent. I am sure there are other trophy winners that didn’t do much in the NFL & some that did, my point is this; The Heisman trophy doesn’t mean anything for draft position or success in the NFL.
The NHL to realign? The NHL has been trying for weeks to tinker with its schedule configuration, but is now considering a significant overhaul of the face of the league that includes realignment and a reduction in the number of divisions from six to four.

How about an Original Six Conference + Ottawa?
I am a long time NHL fan and that idea appeals to me. Why not cater to your long time fans a bit? Usually a staple of this type of discussion has Detroit moving into the East.
Maybe Put 3 Original Six teams in a divison but in the same Conference then there would be a greater chance of Original Six playoff match ups?
I am all for a “major” realignment of the NHL. All Eastern Time zone games are a plus, but Detroit would have to change Conferences.
Tigers Win 3-1 in World Series Game 2

Hey I just saw a picture that supposedly show it was shit on KR hand, I guess that’s "proof” too? Still haven't seen this photographic proof from 3 strait appearances showing some substance on the same part of the hand as was seen last night. Can it really be proof at this point? I am sure some folks in St. Louis are handy with the old Photoshop!
Now I have read & heard lots of stories today, that most MLB pitchers use some type of doctoring method usually pine tar. Maybe it is and maybe it isn't what he had on his hand last night.
An undeniable FACT is he went on to pitch 7 more innings of shut out ball.
He would have to be a LUNITIC to continue doctoring the ball AFTER it was brought to light.
I feel that the media is just itching to find someway to discredit this years Tigers. Hell I can hardly believe "The Detroit Tigers take the field in the 102nd World Series" myself! Maybe that’s what KR brought to The Motor City, the ability to teach all the young kids to doctor the ball. Not Gold Glove pitcher fielding or veteran leadership.
No doubt in my mind IF the umpire thought he was violating he would have been inspected & tossed. From the umpires perspective it is usually pretty easy to see the ball's movement & unusually movement at that.

OK I watched the video. They do have 3 separate times you can "see” something on his hand. Last night & 1 other time same spot, once on the index finger. I am not familiar with rosin (I know what it is & what it is supposed too do) but is it possible that the use of rosin & dirt could be the cause? If not let me know, as I said I don't know rosin very well!
This could be a cause/effect, which falls completely with in the rules.
Or he could have been dabbing the pine tar on his hand. It wouldn't be the first time an athlete tried to gain a competitive advantage. I just hope the league doesn’t suspend him too long.
Oh, wait the Ump didn’t throw him out of the game for violating the rules.............

This looks like it happened, Dallas police will have a news conference in a little while.......
I don't care for Owens, but I have felt for a long time that some of the things he has done are more than an attempt to keep him in the limelight.
This man needs professional mental health help.
"Oh, we had good times." But as Simmons held that old sepia photo of the 1913 Homestead Grays for those long 20 seconds, he gradually decided that one face did ring a bell. He fixed on it and pointed his weathered hand at the player sitting in the middle row, second from the right. He said nothing as he pointed. Who is that? he was asked. "That's Si Simmons," he said. Really? Was he sure? "That’s me," he declared. "Oh, we had good times."

Coaching this team (And being asked back!) has been the best thing I have ever done!
I did not think I would get the chance to Coach my middle son......
Every player has a tale simulair too Mo's.
I am glad he got reconized!
I am working with the Toronto coach, so Mo gets a chance to play before the next event!

Still a better starter option than Osgood!
I don't understand why they don't give one of their young Goalies, i.e. Howard, the chance to be "the guy"
The younger guys have got it done around the league lately.
It is not comforting as a Wings fan, to know we are one pulled groin away from CO being “the guy”
Dumars hopes to keep Pistons' nucleus together If Detroit is able to re-sign Ben Wallace, an unrestricted free agent, the Pistons president of basketball operations said he expects to keep the team's nucleus intact to make another run after falling short of the NBA finals for the first time since 2003

I live in the Motor City & Love my home teams (How ‘bout those Tigers?)
Now to my point, what I saw in the NBA playoffs was star players stepping up & taking over. The Pistons in recent years have lived under the “team with no star” philosophy.
It worked for a while, but I think that runs is over, they need a “STAR” maybe KG?
I also think they must keep Big Ben. All of the players have said he is the energy that gets the team going, you can’t lose that.
Chelios to return to Red Wings The ageless Chris Chelios set to come back for another season with the Red Wings. 23 seasons played ties him with Al MacInnis for second amongst defensemen.

CC looked pretty darn good all year except in the playoffs. I feel the loss of Fisher really hurt him. He carried the Wings defensively last year (When # 5 wasn’t on the ice) but seemed to run out of gas in the playoffs. He can still play.
Life is funny, when he was in Chicago I HATED him. Now every once in a while I hang out with him. He is a great guy & gives a lot to the city of Detroit. I am glad the Wings brought him back. I assume that the folks in Chicago now feel like the fans in Detroit used too
Poor judgment on Shelly's part, but I see it as a part of the Red Sox/ Yankees rivalry.
I would expect that the IRS has already contacted the family (As it has with fans that now own milestone home run balls) demanding their cut.
I thought it was mandatory to chant "Yankees Suck", "Red Sox Suck" depending on what team you root for?
Maybe Shelly falls into the realm of dumb jock and just wrote the last thing he heard?
EBay it & take the money, use it for the required therapy because of the emotional scaring!
