Nadal-Federer epic the most thrilling of all the Wimbledon finals I came here to see what the buzz was and was shocked to see Nadal/Federer hadn't been posted already. I only saw part of the match and sadly missed most of the last set, but it seemed pretty epic to me, especially during the 4th set tiebreaker.

Candace Parker Dunks As Sparks Top Fever ESPN.COM:Candace Parker had dunked in college, and she finally broke out the big move in the WNBA. The Sparks' star slammed one home with 33 seconds left in Los Angeles' 77-63 win over Indiana on Sunday. I love to watch this sport, but unfortunately we will have to see alot more of this if the WNBA is to survive.

Five More Years of Notre Dame on NBC The broadcast network has reached a deal to broadcast Notre Dame football for another five years, ending in 2015. Seven games will be played at home in South Bend, plus one at a neutral site airing in prime time. The once-dominant Irish have fallen on hard luck in recent decades, going 3-9 last season and losing nine straight bowl games.

Very curious. I sorta-kinda like Notre Dame, but I've avoided watching them on TV the last decade or so because they've become average, sometimes not even that.
I don't see the point anymore.

Nadal wins 4th straight French Open in a rout. Rafael Nadal put on a clinic against World #1 Roger Federer to match Bjorn Borg's record for consecutive victories at Roland Garros. He was so dominant, he felt he had to apologize to Federer for the result.

Nadal's backhand has really improved. Opponents used to target it and that strategy used to pay off with some frequency. That's not true anymore, especially on clay.

Fines will be imposed for clear cases of flopping: The league office has yet to determine exact fine amounts for offending flops and how fines might escalate for repeat offenders, but in-game arena observers and video reviewers will be instructed to report instances of theatrical flopping for potential punishment as part of postgame reports on officiating and other matters.

Sounds good to me. Flopping is one of the worst aspects of the NBA. If they stick to very clear cases it should work.

The Red Sox and Oakland open the season in Japan with Dice-K returning home to start. Usually these trips result in a lot of grousing by the players (most famously, Mike Mussina), but there's not a lot of sympathy when you're getting $40,000 for your troubles. Except if you're not: the MLB has announced that while players and managers will receive the stipend, coaches will not. Red Sox players are threatening to walk off the field today if the MLB does not reverse its reversal of its original stance.

Not surprising at all. The MLB is an organization that believes the rules do not apply to them. They already have the antitrust exemption. They persistently try to deny fair-use exists. They disable legally downloaded videos with no recourse.

While Nadal was the 2 seed few people expected him to get to the final. He did well to get to the semis.
Tsonga played a spectacular match against Nadal, by far the best of his career. The match he played is the definition of In The Zone. It's still available on espn360, I highly recommend watching it there or getting a torrent of it.
Federer played a slightly below average match, for him, and Djokovic made him pay for it. It was their USO match reversed--this time Djokovic won the big points, and his nerves held up.

Federer's had a clear rival since 2005, Nadal. Nadal is the guy who's kept Federer from winning the French, who'd played Federer the closest at Wimbledon, and he's the only guy on tour with a significantly favorable win/loss ratio against Federer.
