By Executive Order, yerfatma has graciously decided to perform a portion of a Mission of Honor with us at a yet-to-be-determined establishment in New York tomorrow night. Rangers/Leafs Game Meetup?: I understand that some or all of Weedy/Garfield/Samsonov are planning on coming to the Leafs/Rangers game at Madison Square Garden tonight (March 18th).

Well, ajaffe & I have also wound up with tickets, and I was just kindasorta thinking, does anyone want to get together beforehand for a beverage and some desultory trash-talking between a legit contender and, uh, the team I'll be pulling for?

How often does this happen?: (I don't know where else to put this question, and it's not like I have a link for it...)

I'm watching the Premier League match of the night on tape right now (Everton/Liverpool), and instead of the regular (or any) play-by-play guys, these two screaming homers are cheering their own sides on, and providing basically no insight whatsoever. It's like sitting beside two quarrelling knuckleheads at the pub...

SpoFi NHL Pool Quarter Pole Update:: Despite everyone's fears of the Jolly Grum Giant, he sits in 5th place (before Saturday's games), and WeedyMcSamoan (you read that right) has opened a small lead on the field. You lucky SOBs at the top of the ladder weren't riddled with injuries, but there's still 60 or so more games for everyone's chickens to come home to roost.

Everybody Get Together!: With the change in seasons, a young* Spofite's thoughts turn to gathering in public places and doing something, or at least watching other people doing something while we drink and mock them openly. That's fun too. We here in the Northeastern US, having successfully executed a meetup once already, are considering a night of NHL action, and maybe also something more active. Let's pick a date and a time for either or both, yes?

Yahoo Spofi Fantasy Draft Update:: Well, today's draft went off amid much heckling, double- (and triple- and fourple-) reverse psychology, and now we all have teams, some of whom are a tad lopsided (daddisamm, for example, has a team consisting entirely of goalies, which I didn't know was even possible). Also, we watched "Platoon" together via chat. It was very bonding.)

For the record, Jarome Iginla went first, and Pierre Turgeon was picked last. Let the crowing, trash-talking, kvetching and trademongering begin!
