If if looks like a sport, smells like a sport....: This past week we had this little gem of post degrade into the whole "is it or isn't a sport" conversation. I freely admit I was a part of it as were one of the sites admins. I was just wondering if we could get a ruling whether or not pro wrestling/sports entertainment post we welcomed.
Its that time of year again: Time for some hockey hardware. While four teams are battling for the grandest prize in hockey we still have the individual awards to speculate on. More on the inside
Are you ready for some hockey?: Allow the playoff speculation to begin. Match-ups were finalized today so let's let all the hockey know-it-alls do their thang!
NBA Prediction Thread: I can't believe we haven't had one of these yet. Pick division winners, the other five playoff teams, sixth man of the year, defensive player of the year and rookie of the year.
Speculate away: Hockey brethren unite! Let's get some picks on who what trophy. For those not in the know the list is as follows:
Hart Memorial Trophy: NHL Most Valuable Player
Jack Adams Award: Coach of the Year
James Norris Memorial Trophy: Top Defenseman in the NHL
Lady Byng Memorial Trophy: Player who Displays Gentlemanly Conduct
Vezina Trophy: Top Goalie in the NHL
Calder Memorial Trophy: Rookie of the Year
Frank J. Selke Trophy: Top Defensive Forward in the NHL
And for the ones we already know:
Art Ross Trophy: Top Point Scorer in the NHL Sidney Crosby-Pittsburgh Penguins-36 goals 84 assists 120 points

Spofi on the move: This is a post about my favorite subject: ME. I recently moved to beautiful Wilmington NC. Just wondering if any spofities in the area were into catching a Canes (No Mich I look in your genrql direct) game in senic Raleigh or maybe get together for cocktails, as I have few pals in the area and I don't make friends very easily.
Burnside's top 25 free agents: Didn't think this was a FPP but it should stimulate some debate amongst my hockey loving brethern (and sisteren). Who's the hottest free agent available? Who's going to be the biggest bust? Why the fuck is Jeremy Roenick still playing hockey?
Let the endless hockey chatter continue: I'd like to see everyones pick for one of my favorite hockey customs: The end of the year awards. Let's get 'em before the playoffs really skew our view of who deserves what.
Question: What real time stats are kept in the NHL these days? I was poking around the information super highway this evening, looking at hockey stats and such and I was missing some of my old favorites and noticed some new catagories I had never seen before. Gone were hits and blocked shots and ice time, new to me were the catagories named ATOI and PROD which were measured in minutes and seconds. If any of my hockey loving brethern can lay some knowledge on me, I would appreciate it.
Are posts being deleted, and if so how long has this been going on?: I noticed in Amateur's column (nice work by the way) comments some idiot posted a negative comment about the popularity of the thread, then it was gone. I know in previous in Locker Room threads talk of comment/account deletion was brought up but no decision was ever finalized. I can still see some RZA comments but all traces of SportingRhino are gone, so what is the criteria for deletion. It also maked reading archived threads a little confusing. I am ever the opportunist so I would like to know what happenes to the user numbers of those who are forcibly removed and if so are they up for grabs, and does anyone know the status of user # 13 just uh out of curiosity.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot : Since I'm leaving work in a little while I wanted to take the time to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope you all have a happy and fun one. See ya in '06.
Shootout stats: Its not news but I find it interesting and I really just can't stop talking about hockey after that horrible year off. I was gonna ask if any one had a link to some shoot out stats but I found one through the NHL.com. Just wondering if anyone else found this as cool as I did. I like the fact they are being charted even though they don't count towards individual statistics. Also what do you think of a Jennings type award for best shootout percentage?(obviously with a minimum number of shots taken)
