I don't get the spread thing. Since Seattle won by one, there is no margin of error? But for the Pats there is 12 point margin of error? I'm not complaining about the rules, just want to make sure I understand them. (I had the four winners and Philly by three too.)

wow, you are the first person to pick either team from New York. I'm kinda on the fence re: Eagles/Giants. NYG have a very good chance and someone could pick up some ground in this pool with them. (Is it possible to change picks until, say, two hours before kickoff of first game?)

There was a time around week 7/8/9 where I thought I wouldn't be happy unless I had the trifecta trophy .... both the Spofi pick 'ems (spread & confidence) and MetaChat. But, just MetaChat and two SpoFi 2nds feels pretty good too. Makes up for a crappy fantasy year. Congrats, NoMich.

MetaFilter used to have this bug (commenting on closed threads or even future threads) until about Summer 2005. Is SpoFi is still using that codebase?

I see you changed one of the running back positions to a flex position. Thanks. Can we consider shortenign the bench too? In such a deep league, it's nice for there to be something on the free agent list besides kickers.

Greetings...I'm 'Grand Theft Neocon'. (rainbaby is the Badonkadonkers.) In previous years, we have limited the running back and bench positions since the SpoFi league is so deep. Maybe one starting RB (plus the flex) and 3 or 4 bench players?

Yay for new folks in sportsfilter flickr group! We should find more ways to promote it, I wouldn't have guessed so many people didn't know about it. Maybe the Pantheon could replace the link to the SpoFi Wiki on the lockerroom front page with a link to the flickr group. The Wiki domain has expired, so the link now just acts as an ad for godaddy.com. (The wiki content is here, at least for now.) I sent an email about this to the address at the top of lockerroom front page a few weeks ago, but never heard anything back. Sorry to interrupt.

Or would we just let people become full members based on complete silence, as long as they didn't say anything st00pid? Yes. Not much different then things are now. You act stupid, you get banned. Otherwise, you're full-fledged whether you're active or not. And how will they know when someone's 45 days are up? I would assume this would be handled programatically. No final vote neccesary. can the mods un-decline? Yes. I don't think we're talking about replacing the omnipotent powers of the Pantheon, but merely allowing some folks to be their little angels.

Can someone tell me again what's wrong with rcade's original idea? The only objection I've noticed raised was potential abuse of the 'decline' button, and that can be corrected easily by only presenting to the button the 20-25 moderators. I like it because there's no callout neccessary and most folks won't know a trial member from a regular one. Also the default action is that new members graduate to full status automatically. What I see as it's primary drawback is that it seems like a fair amount of work to implement and there are probably more important items on the to do list.
