I definitely have a sentimental attachment to it, but it sure hasn't been getting much use. My only concern would be missing a fantasy league sign up that's buried in one of the huddle posts, but I suppose a dedicated front page post for fantasy league and pick 'ems would take care of that. So I'll go with the flow.

Was busy watching the game. The best news I had out of it was winning Spofi's CL Fantasy league. That and watching three of my least favorite players bottle it in some way or another. Congrats to Man U... worthy champs as much as it galls me to say it.

My apologies salmacis and squely... But reading about the condition of the pitch at Wembley during the Guardian MBM coverage of the England friendly makes me wonder if it is as bad as they say.

Why are all the user pages listed on the wiki listed under the letter "u".? I tried to look at it to see how it may be fixed, but for the life of me, I couldnt' figure it out. Of course, I can barely keep my eyes open for the Colbert Report right now.

Here are some good football/soccer podcasts that I listen to on the train every week: Football Weekly: The Guardian's take on all things football. It has an English focus, but features reports on Italian and Spanish football as well. For those of you who enjoy the minute-by-minute reports, this one is for you. Arsecast: This podcast from the bloggie-winning Arseblog is a good summary of all things Arsenal that's just funny enough that fans of most other teams could find a laugh from time to time. ESPN Soccernet Extra: This is a lot more comprehensive as it comes out twice a week (Monday and Thursday), but it doesn't have quite the humor of the other two. It did have decent coverage of the A-League playoffs though. Maybe all the Liverpool fans around these parts can convince kopblog to start producing a podcast.

The selections thus far are pretty good. How about Arthur Ashe instead of Becker for a Tennis name? Some others worthy of consideration: Curt Flood - Free Agency and all that Joe Dimaggio - He married Marilyn Monroe for goodness sake.. and there's that whole 56 game hitting streak. Talk about captivating the nation's attention. Jim Thorpe - The original all-arounder. Gold medals. Pro football.

How about Yuengling over, uhhhhh, whatever they make in Atlanta? Yuengling is quite nice (I like Victory Hop Devil Ale as well), but Sweetwater, Terrapin (Athens), Red Brick, and Laughing Skull are all pretty good as well (to answer the question). Moment of silence for Dogwood which recently went out of business.

And no matter how it got there, once a team gets in your blood there is no getting rid of it. Don't I know that, since my favorite teams are about as Geographically separated as they can get: from London to Boston to DC to Atlanta. And every one of them has a solid justification blood wise if not geographically.
